I have an old photo of Fred taken at Stockton's 99 Speedway. It was in his #8 orange modified. Smaller engine than the supers at San Jose. I will try and locate and get it posted.

I forgot. I had the photo posted at Primo Giusti's "Turn 4 - Auto Racing Nostalgia" a website he dedicated to his father Joe Giusti. A nice website. Here is the link if you are interested plus my story in his Liar's Corner about the good old days at Stockton. Hunt, Brazil, and Tony Quierolo. http://turn4.info/ Just click on Photo Galleries at the top of the page and then click on the General Gallery button and you will find Fred and crew at the bottom of the page. BTW your photos are really great. Do you plan on making the USAC Roseville show?

Great site Bob! Thanks for telling me about it! Glad you like the pics. I am planning on Roseville, but I am having difficulty obtaining photo credentials! Their reasoning is that the track photographer has "exclusive rights". WHAT? Aren't we all trying to give back to, and support the sport that we all love? Exposure through photos and media coverage does nothing but help the sport! I just don't get it........

Thanks Ed, I'd love to see it again. I've been wanting to make the "Key" for a few years now, that would give me one more reason to make it down this year......

cmpvideo2go: Thanks so much for the photos of Fred Hunt's 8 Ball. Like T-Dub said it brougt back many memories of Stockton's 99 Speedway. Any idea who owns the car now? I remember back in those days that Fred and his team were always late for qualifying at Stockton. I would sit high in the stands so that I could watch for him come up to the track off of Wilson Way. With what seemed like just a few minutes left in qualifying the truck would be spotted and they would drive in and unload the race car and finish in at least the top 2 or 3 qualifiers. Bob McLeod was the wrench on the car and maybe the car owner. The team was from Tracy. He was a truck driver then (if memory serves me right) and had a difficult time making it to the race track on Friday nights. What a driver and what memories. Thanks again.
