Personally, I would rather watch it live on tv, not a tape delay. Not everyone can take the time off to enjoy the event in person, and even if you don't surf the net to not see the results, it's not the same thing watching it on Sunday as it is watching it live, on Saturday night...The Nationals are big enough to not have to worry about pay per view.

I can't understand this fascination with televised dirt track racing or watching much television during the summer at all for that matter. D*mn summers are short and a person has to spend every possible moment outdoors enjoying them. Camping, cold beverages, good friends, that's what live racing is all about. Even a boring Street Stock race live is better than watching any televised race even if it were the Nationals.

Disclaimer: This hypocrite has a big screen TV and the Dish Network HD package for those rare occasions when he breaks down and watches television. Nevertheless, there's no way I'd skip a live race to watch the Outlaws on TV unless all the local tracks were rained out.

I hope if they do have a new TV deal that it's going to be in HD. HD Sprint Cars with the surround sound cranked up might coax me out of a couple hours of yard work. wink

Here is something to ponder while we await the big announcement. Lasoski, Pittman, McCarl, Hafertepe, and others all racing in ASCS this weekend in OKC. I was at the race last night and it wasn't a bad one seeing the Outlaws mixed in with the likes of the ASCS regulars. Could it be a sign of times to come?

watching a live sprint show is pretty tuff to beat in my world , a stock car show on TV is kinda a yahner, (Bristol is the only one I can tolerate) can you imagine , back yard hobby stocks , on TV for fifteen minutes ?

Stan, I fake, the mower running out of gas , funnel clouds spotted s,and dangerous windchills in August, just so I can watch the WoO, Heck Ive even trained the wife to (accidentally) break the vacuum cleaner so she can stop and watch, Its OK, its our house, we'll make the rules!
