Nice idea, but I'd like to suggest that Perris focus its promotions on developing a younger audience... if sprints, and dirt track racing in general is to survive in the long run.
I look around the stands at every CRA show and see mostly people 45 and older. Perris might do well to target people born in '70s, '80s and '90s, rather than the '40s, '50s and '60s. The reason: exposure of a great entertainment experience and value to an audience that can help to sustain the sport in the long run.
I targeted very specific audiences for the resorts and attracions I marketed in Palm Springs so that we could build repeat ticket sales among those likely to perceive our products as desirable. Maybe it will work here. Just a thought.

If I was in still in my youth I wouldn't be hunting chicks at the Sprints on a Saturday night.
Doing our part bringing two 20 somethings and a 6 year old tonight. Looking forward to some racing, it's been a long month.

I agree with both post's but I think the earlier we can can introduce them to the sport the better. I was always at the track growing up but when I was a teen in California there were some times when Ascot was not considered when planning a Saturday night of fun, but as I matured it became more important in my life again and going to the track often with my dad was a priority, just like it became later with my own family.
I've had the opportunity to sit with some young men at Manzy who dive Mini Sprints, and I was a little surprised but delighted in the fact that not only did they have a good knowledge of the history and the past driver's in the sport but were excited and just happy to be there with no complaints. I had a good time with those young men. I may do a little of it on here, complaining, but it's more like wishing.LOL but when I'm at the track it seems I hear more grumbling than ever nowadays. Of course I remember my dad and some of the friends, all drivers or retired, bitching about USAC at the Phoenix fairgrounds in 58, and some not to nice comments about Foyt to go with it..LOL

Funny. I heard the same sort of stuff about A. J. at Ascot the night he drove that four-cam Ford sprinter there in the mid '60s. Stick your b**t out, get arrows in it, I guess.
