As of 7 55 and 36% of the precincts the count is 62% for and 38% against.

How about they funnel some of that money our way. Oops, I forgot racing in the city is not considered big league.

Since the deal looks as if it is going to pass, I am awaiting that higher paying job. Oh wait, that came with MAPS 1.

I am awaiting to see what big concerts will now head our way. Wait, what can get bigger than George Straight or Van Halen?

For the first time in recent memory, we can FINALLY get BIG 12 tournaments and NCAA basketball tournament games to the city. Too bad what has came to the city in the past and the upcoming NCAA womans tournament at the end of March isn't worth all that much.

I guess OKC will be getting what they want... well at least those who voted yes. It will be interesting to see who actually benefits from this other than basketball fans, the owners and promoters. Nothing against basketball or its fans... it's just sad that two of my favorite sports, racing and Blazers hockey, are still virtually ignored by the media in this city (the paper and the local tv stations). I don't live in the City and didn't get to vote, but I'll keep supporting racing and hockey... kind of the red-headed step-children as far as the media are concerned... the best I can as a fan.

JD, I think this one is suppose to last for 15 months. The MAPS for kids is suppose to end in Jan and then this one kicks in. Okc still has not had the MAPS3 vote come up yet, which we all know the powers that be will push it.

What is funny is that the NBA still has not approved the move to Okc yet. The NBA meets in April, i think, to decide if it is ok to move.

I doubt they do anything in regards to a racing facility. We are not a classy enough group of people to warrant a first class place. The powers that be think of us as a bunch of backwoods hillbilly rednecks.

Well look at it this way, you know OSU fans and the people in Stillwater are rejoicing as now they won't be the only losing team in the state of Oklahoma if the Sonics do come here.

David, I am an OSU fan saying that though alot of the OSU fans on the internet were supporting this thing and were acting like it was the 2nd coming. Although they wear orange and black like me please do not include me with them.

As everyone can guess I was 100% against it from the very beginning.

speaking of OSU - still gasping for air in Stillwater I bet. what was supposed to be the hottest team in the league hosting a huge rivalry game at home against a team without their best player. I can't recall the line - but OU was a huge underdog. I really won't rub it in too much. those refs called such a horrible game - it appeared to go against OU for the most part. but in the end maybe not - because OSU could never really establish a run and gun rhythym that woulda got the corwd involved. huge win for OU - and barring a complete meltdown against Missouri saturday and 1st round of the big 12 conference tournament - they should be in the big dance no matter what. good luck to osu in the NIT. And since bedlam is done - I hope the best for OSU - and hope they can make a run to get into the NIT.

As for the OKC vote. what a perfect example of biting off more than can be chewed. I read and was gonna repost it here - but read this deal on what all the Sonics fans in Seattle had to say. This is so much more a dirty deal than what ANYONE here realizes. granted they are passionately pissed up there. but some things they pointed out did amount to a big pile of stinkin crap. Clay Bennet is definitely not liked in Seattle. The people of Seattle paid out over 300 million to make "improvements" to Key Arena in Seattle. This while the team is owned by a guy who coulda put down a sizable chunk himself. So not even 8 years later and he;s already bitchin about a new arena? Sonics fans and the city itseld feel pretty insulted by this. could ya blame em? also - Seattle is the 14t biggest market - OKC 45th. so where is the motivation to move the team here? also look at the timeline - the owner proclaims loyalty to seattle - then asks bullshit of em - the commisioner Stern says the sonics will not move no matter what. and within 6 months retracts that to say there is no way the franchise will stay. most in seattle feel the answer is OKC was willing to pay. either way seattle folk and sonics supporters feel betrayed after supporting a team and franchise that is basically now taking a huge giant shit on em now. I don't blame em.

I doubt all the money that just got voted for will go just to that ford center. I bet a lot is going into sonics ownerships very own pockets. never mind the several meetings the owners have been cited with having with several CEO's of oil corporations, etc. this vote was basically to pay the ownership of the sonics to move here. and I agree it completely betrays the entire city of seattle and sonics fans. and after the sonics come here - what happens when some other bigger city - like a Kansas City or something pops up with a better deal than they will have with okc. are citizens of OKC prepared to pay hundreds of millions on a consistent basis as a payoff to keep em here? and that may not happen. but lookin at how okc is even having to even get an nba team it's not unreasonable. and all this to see Kevin (I can't shoot better than 30%) Durant? Pro basketball sucks balls. it's the only thing worse than baseball. too bad we couldn't have got a pro hockey or football team here. we will never get football - but hockey would be alright. I guess at the very least - we coulda got a different nba team. the one we look to get is really awful. durant is their franchise player. that says a lot.

How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a
wouldchuck could chuck would
