FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RIP WILLIAMS' TEENAGE SON TO MAKE USAC/CRA DEBUT SATURDAY AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!

(MARCH 3, 2008, PERRIS, CA) Cody Williams, the 18 year old son of Sprint Car racing superstar Rip Williams, will make his USAC/CRA Sprint Car debut this Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway in a show presented by Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply. The winged California Lightning Sprint Cars will make up the other half of the show on 1950s Night at The PAS. Any fan born in the 1950s can show their ID at the ticket window and get in for just $5.00. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM with racing at 7:00.

The El Dorado High School Senior will be in the familiar Jack Jory owned black #3 that his father has steered to numerous victories around the West Coast. The youngster gets an early start on his USAC/CRA career due to the broken foot father Rip suffered at the season opening race in February.

While this will be his first foray into USAC/CRA competition, the youngster is not totally new to racing. "He raced a Focus Midget (owned by legendary open wheel racer Wally Pankratz) eight times and last year he raced a Sprint Car four times at Victorville," his proud father said by telephone on Monday afternoon. "He finished 2nd one night at Victorville and was leading another main when he broke. He will probably be at most of the Perris races filling in for me while I am out."

Perris promoter Don Kazarian is excited to see Cody making his debut at The PAS and commented, "I can't wait to see the kid race. He has practiced at The PAS before and he was very impressive. Especially at our annual pre-season practice in February. He was on the gas!"

When asked if watching his eldest son race made him nervous, Williams laughed and said, "No, I don't think so. I brought him along slow and he knows what is up." When asked if his wife Becky was nervous, Williams said no, she is all right with it as well.

Williams said that his longtime car owner is looking forward to Saturday night. "Jack is pretty excited. I told him he did not have to do it (put Cody in the car) because of me, but he wants to do it."

While this will be the first run for Cody Williams, it will only be a practice run for his Mom and Dad as two other sons, Austin and Logan, will be making their way onto the track in the not to distant future.

Advance tickets for Saturday's show are available now by calling (800) 595-4849 or (951) 940-0134. You can also order tickets on the Internet at tix.com or perrisautospeedway.com.
