Stephen Allard & 1m Racing ready for Mini Gold Cup By Gary Thomas
Chico , CA – February 28, 2008...With the 22nd annual Mini Gold Cup just days away, Chico ’s Stephen Allard is ready to begin the season and looks to build off a year that saw him win the Silver Dollar Speedway 410 track championship. The 2008 season will see Allard sit behind the wheel of the Skip Jones owned 1m Racing machine with him once again running primarily at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. The plan for Allard and the team is to kick off the season at the 22nd annual Mini Gold Cup competing against the traveling drivers of the Golden State Challenge Series. Following the Mini Gold Cup Allard will run as many of the Feather Falls Casino Friday night point races as possible throughout the remainder of the year, but plans aren’t set in stone to compete full time once again. “We are really excited to start the year off as it’s been a long winter,” the 35 year-old said. “We’ve retained many of the sponsors from this past season, but are always looking for new ones to help with the costs of competing each and every weekend.” Allard and 1m Racing showed the potential for big things this past season by taking home the Silver Dollar Speedway title, which included three A-main victories, 11 top five’s and five heat race wins along the way. The 1m Racing team also brought home a seventh place finish during the Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals in October at the ¼ mile clay oval, an event that saw 90 cars in competition over three nights. For any potential sponsors or marketing partners that would like to get on board with Stephen Allard and 1m Racing please stop by the pit at the Mini Gold Cup. The event is expected to see over 45 winged 410 sprinters compete in front of a large crowd over two nights of action on March 7 & 8 at Silver Dollar Speedway.
