I'm going to climb out on a limb and predict that since this is a Thur/Fri. show there will be 14 sprint cars in the pits and 52 fans in the stands.Oh I forgot this is a Nascrap weekend that will bring another 1000 drunk hillbillies who can't seem to figure out that seats are for sitting.the only winner at this race will be the Hossier tire guy.

So, does that mean you wont be at the Western All Star Late Model show at Oildale on Saturday?

Wow, that would be great to watch the Western All Stars. What a great series. I just wish they could run at Perris with the USAC/CRA. NOT!! It would be fun to watch them ruin the track for the 410's every night out. No doubt, that is what is going to happen in Vegas this weekend. The USAC/CRA got rid of Hanford, they should also get rid of Vegas. It costs the teams way too much money on tires. Just my opinion.

At $26.25 to$36.75 [depending on where you sit] spectators at Vegas won't be the big winners if the track is the same the same condition as it was last fall.Fuel is $3 plus, methonal close to $6,$180 left rear,$170 each front tire,$200 plus rr,probably times 2 on the tires by the nights over and 40 gal.of meth. Why would So. Cal. race teams go and more important WHY does USAC sanction this track. We are blessed to have Perris in our back yard........

Not sure about this but I think those spectator prices are for two nights. If so the ticket pricing is somewhat close to Perris. But, does USAC make money on the event regardless of what it costs the race teams to race there? If so, as usual, follow the money.

Too bad you're going to miss the Oildale race. Went the last two seasons. Had between 40-50 late models and had a few big guns from the mid-west. The All Stars always put on a good show at that little bullring.

We're going to the Montreal Canadiens- LA Kings game at Staples Center on the 8th. It's a 1:00pm game. After that we're headed over to Ventura for their season opener. Hockey & sprint cars, just doesn't get any better than that!

Totally agree Oak! Hockey and racing, good stuff! I recall going to the Kings games in the late 80's. Used to sit about 10-15 rows back of the glass for about $17. When Gretzky signed with them, the same seats went to $45 immediately! frown

We enjoyed watching Gretzky play, but in the 80's, $45 was a hard hit to take. We didn't go to as many games when he joined. Sounds like your gonna have a blast that day! wink

My family moved from Fresno to Huntington Beach in 1978. The company my dad worked for had season tickets. Of coarse being the pre-Gretzky era, nobody cared about hockey, so those tickets were pretty regularly available lol. I was hooked after my first game. Wasn't much hockey on TV at the time. Still remember listening to Bob Miller & Nick Nixon calling the games on my am radio. That was also my first year going to a certain dirt track in Gardena. To this day, dirt tracks & hockey games are my favorite places to be, as my wife can attest. It's a damn good thing for me that she was born and raised in Montreal, she totally understands my addiction lol.

Ahhhhhh, I remember that Gardena dirt track. Wasn't that where the ponies trained for their races at Hollywood Park? wink

On any given race night at that dirt track in Gardena there were probably more ponies in the pits than all the ponies that have ever raced at Hollywood Park.

Also not a hockey fan. Went to Las Vegas last fall, first and last time. I see they dropped this fall and will be at Perris.

Hockey has become too tame with the fighting penalties. I never went to a hockey game without a fight in the 80's.

Now you have to go to a sprint car race to see a good fight. Jones crew vs. Hansen, Swindell vs. Clayton, Sheridan vs. Schuerenberg!

You can save money by attending only one event.
