I was sitting around here working on a project and I came across some stats for Sean Becker that I thought were pretty amazing and most probably don’t realize. We all know how good this guy is, not only as a driver but as a person too, but I think he kind of flies under the radar sometimes when people discuss who the top drivers are on the west coast.

Take at a look at these point finishes he has tallied during his sprint car career:

2007-

2nd in Golden State Challenge points
2nd in Silver Dollar Speedway points

2006-

2nd in Silver Dollar Speedway points (also won Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial)

2005-

1st in Golden State Challenge points
1st in Silver Dollar Speedway points

2004-

2nd in Silver Dollar Speedway points (also finished 4th during opening night of the Gold Cup & 8th on Saturday)
5th in Golden State Challenge points (this was his first year touring with the series)

2003-

2nd in Silver Dollar Speedway points

2002-

Rookie of the Year at Silver Dollar Speedway and finished 8th in points

---------------------------------

And keep in mind Sean has never traveled to the Midwest like some of our other top competitors. Just look what it did for guys like Tim Kaeding, Jonathan Allard, Brad Sweet, Jason Meyers and Brad Furr to name a few. It’s been proven that getting out and touring in the Midwest makes you a better competitor, when the guys I mentioned came back to California, they were different drivers.

I know that Jonathan always credits the traveling he did as not only changing him as a driver, but as a person all together in knowing what it takes to make it in this business and how much focus it takes. Just think how good Sean could be if he had that opportunity to do some traveling back east.

With him running Civil War this year, he has a shot to become the first driver to have a GSC title, a Silver Dollar Speedway title and Civil War Series championship. With what he’s done in his career, I certainly wouldn’t put it against him. Keep your eyes on the "Shark" in '08!

Don't forget he has won numerous outlaw sprint kart championships and is currently leading the Open 500cc division in Red Bluff with 2 more races to go.

In 2002 he was the first driver ever to be nominated for both the National 360 and 410 Rookie of the Year in the same season for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

Sean is definitely one of the TOP sprint car drivers on the west coast.

Good Luck in 2008 Sean!
