"The Crowd-pleaser", Craig Dollansky from Minnesota, Jason "Hot Foot" Myers from California and Missouri's Danny "The Dude" Lasoski who once beat the NASCAR guys at their own game in an IROC race won the first three Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaw Sprint Car events of the year at Volusia Speedway Park last weekend.
They will be 3 of some 30 or 40 or 410 World of Outlaw Spint Car racers that will converge on Pike County Speedway in south Mississippi (not too far north of New Orleans!) this Saturday night!
But who will win #4?
Will one of those three repeat? or...will it be...
The 2-time and defending champion Donnie Schatz -- who drives for Tony Stewart?,
The 20-time WoO Champion & undisputed "King of the Outlaws" Steve Kiners?,
The "Wild Child" Jac Haudenschild from Ohio or "Double Down" Jason Sides from Memphis? or how about an upset by "The Madman" from down under in Australia, Kerry Madsen?
Or how 'bout a repeat of last year's win by "The Brownsberg Bullet", Joey Saldana! Saldana's driving Kasey Kahne's Budweiser #9.
Rumors are out there that Kasey Kahne will be adding a 2nd Sprint Car later this year with Remington as a sponsor and none other than the Cajun Sensation, Jason Johnson at the wheel. If that turns out to be true, what a deal for us Louisiana fans!
For this race though, Jason will be in Lanny Row's #41 -- the same ride that he finished third with at the 2006 Knoxville Nationals!
Let's hope it ain't Mother Nature that gets the win but the forecast keeps getting a little better each day than what they originally called for on Saturday!
Stay tuned for more on that!

Saldana just hasn't looked good as of late. My pick is Dollansky. He has been awesome as of late. I think Pittman might be up there, and of course Schatz will be a factor. Saldana didn't do so hot at Volusia last year though in the WoO races. He was consistent but not awesome just like this year, then he went to get a win at Tulare, so you never know with him.

# 15 will dominate Pike. I am looking forward to Tulare where local boys will sweep the weekend w/ TK and J. Allard.

I think we're going to get it in too! Better than 70% chance of racing anyway I'd say!

The forecast is even better now for race time. Morning showers give way to no rain for the afternoon-evening-nightime hours but look out after midnight! Going to get serious then but that's OK as long as we get the show in and I bet we can.
They will be on no-play mode all night and the Sprints will of course go first since they know the weather's on the way.
Also, I just checked Days Inn in McComb and there are plenty of rooms as of now but I wouldn't wait. There are some other hotels like a Hawthorne in McComb and McComb is just 10 minutes from the track.
Cya there!

Danny "THE DUDE" Lasoski is going to keep in rolling to pick up his second consecutive victory.
Oakland Sprint Fan -- I wouldn't count on your "local boys" sweeping Tulare!!! TK might have a shot at a top five, but that is the best you can hope for at Tulare.

hoosier highbanks.........have you ever been to Tulare?? TK has the most wins at that track and to say he "might have a shot at the top 5" is somewhat ludicrous. He's in a group that of about 6 or 7 that have a real chances of winning the races. Schatz, SK, Meyers, Saldana, Dollansky, Wild Child and of course TK. Not Lasoski. Not his style of track. You got to hug the wall and that isn't his style. Remember TK finished 3rd at the last Tulare race with the Outlaws back in Oct. in the 10 car and of course he won the race earlier in the year Feb. with SK racing and finished 5th the night before the win. So let's see here........he didn't finish worse then a 5th at Tulare during the WOO shows. Interesting I'll go with TK in the top 5 for sure and him taking one of the 2 nights of racing. The forecast longterm shows rain on Friday though. Let's hope not though.
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Event at Pike County Speedway Postponed by Rain
Magnolia, MS— February 16, 2008--By: Tony Veneziano, World of Outlaws PR Director
Persistent overnight rain and heavy showers continuing through this morning, with severe storms forecast throughout the day have forced the postponement of the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi originally schedule for tonight, February 16.
Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series officials and track officials are currently working on a makeup date which will be announced at a later date.
The World of Outlaws will return to action next weekend at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California with two nights of racing, on February 22 and 23.
After three nights of racing this season, three different drivers have earned A-Feature wins, with Craig Dollansky of Elk River, Minnesota on top of the championship standings by 10 points over Jason Meyers, with two-time defending series champion Donny Schatz in third, Joey Saldana in fourth and Terry McCarl in fifth.
Headquartered in Roanoke, Va., Advance Auto Parts is the second-largest retailer of automotive aftermarket parts, accessories, batteries, and maintenance items in the United States, based on store count and sales. As of October 6, 2007, the company operated 3,228 stores in 40 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The company serves both the do-it-yourself and professional installer markets.
