I feel sorry for Tony.

There are thousands of reporters and announcers around the country, yet they know a very small amount of questions to ask.

I mean Tony crashes and the Einstiens with the mic always ask,"what happened"

They really outght to know the answer before they asked their stupid question.

The media really can be a pain in the a$$ to most of the drivers.

I bet if the media were to ask Tony if he had found his Lambro and Hearse yet, they could get a decent interview. lol lol lol

Tony suffers fools lightly, more power to him. Don't feel sorry for him either, Drano. If things go right with the team he has the talent to win as much as Donny does in his 'other' car. Few have more ability than these two in their respective sports. Take It Easy....

Sorry, but Tony has obviously forgotten the purpose of "Media Day" - it's not put on for him, it's put on for the media. And there are probably a few media members attending their FIRST Daytona 500 - so there will be questions asked of Tony that were asked previously by others. But those who have never attended a 500 have the right to ask questions. The last time I checked, the media circus and its reporting on Tony has made at least part of Tony's success possible.

Tony's often decided that his frustration with the general media is allowed to set the mood at a press conference. Well, here's a news flash for Tony - it's part of his job to deal with the media. If he doesn't like it, then just go do something else. Would he rather be treated like a 3rd string offensive lineman on Media day at the SuperBowl - and be ignored? If NASCAR didn't set up Media Days, Tony would be a lot less well known than he is.

So Tony has the right to choose to not attend media days - but his juvenile complaining just sounds like whining to me. Like I said, if you don't like part of your job, QUIT! Change jobs. Just qwitcherbitchin.......I think that he needs a spanking....

Well said Chuck! I couldn't have said it any better! I am SO tired of people making excuses for Tony's $hitty attitude. He's ALWAYS been a whiner, even in his early USAC days. It's just his nature. If it wasn't the media, it would be someone else. Bottom line: He's just a whiny smartass.........(Great driver, Crappy personality)

Hey t-dub, out of curiousity, how much time have you spent with Tony to give us the 'crappy personality'assesment? I await your reply.

Media day is a joke at Daytona, has been for years. Joe Paloka from nowheresville covering the hicksville daily news is at his first race and asks questions accordinly. Many have done little or no research and it's a circus that wastes a lot of people's time, sorry. Take It Easy.....

Sorry, Mike. While media day may be a joke to some, others are attending their first 500. Like I said, it's put on by NASCAR for the media. As a driver/personality, it's part of your job to treat EVERYONE with respect and dignity at press day. While it may be frustrating that some of the "reporters" haven't done sufficient research and ask repetitve questions, that's not the issue here. The issue, to me, is Tony's bad attitude.

I guarantee you, that if you showed up at a track with that kind of attitude, you'd be quickly asked to pursue another endeavor. Like you, part of Tony's job is to deal with the press - all of them, smart or dumb. As I said earlier, options are available to him. While Tony's driving skills got him where he is, he's got to respect others, too.

Don't like it, Tony? Just go home.......

one person on this board has actual life experience of being a photographer who pissed off TS...maybe they BOTH need anger management classes?

you would think that after going thru the angermanagement cycle a few times already, old Tony would learn before it becomes a distraction for the big race.

NASCAR warns Stewart, Busch to avoid another confrontation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch were ordered to steer clear of each other Saturday in hopes of preventing a repeat of their high-octane confrontation during the first day of Speedweeks.

NASCAR officials summoned Stewart and Busch for a follow-up meeting Saturday, a day after the two drivers tangled on the track -- and possibly in the NASCAR officials' trailer afterward. The entire garage was buzzing over Stewart allegedly punching Busch, a claim no one would confirm or deny.

NASCAR spokesman Jim Hunter said officials have not decided whether to penalize either driver, but delivered a stern warning.

``You two guys better give each other plenty of space,' Hunter said. ``You clearly understand where we are with this and we're going to continue to think about it.'

Hunter said any resulting penalties would be announced Monday or Tuesday.

Busch and Stewart, former series champions with a history of clashing on the track, crashed during the final practice session Friday night.

Busch attempted to block Stewart and got hit from behind, damaging both cars. Busch retaliated by slamming into the side of Stewart's car twice as they drove back toward the garage. Stewart then used his car to block Busch from exiting the track.

Both drivers were immediately told to meet with NASCAR officials. And that's where the details get a little sketchy. Talk spread throughout the garage Saturday that Stewart and Busch continued to bicker once inside the closed-door meeting. It was widely believed Busch insulted Stewart, who then took a swing at him.

NASCAR officials at the meeting refused to comment. NASCAR president Mike Helton said: ``I wasn't in there.'

Stewart's car owner, Joe Gibbs, flew in for the second meeting and also refused to comment on the specifics of the confrontation.

``Anything that happens in there, stays in there,' said Joe Gibbs, Stewart's team owner.

Before I hit Kurt I'd ask him to take his skirt off first, more power to Tony. Any moron can get a Media Pass these days, I had many at Daytona and I was hardly qualified but didn't make an ass of myself either. This crap doesn't happen very often in the stick and ball sports because they generally know better and credentials have to be earned. Take It Easy....
