A lot of good suggestions there. I think I'm going to stick with 01 for this year though. My favorite number has always been 12, but the Strawn cars have always had it so I switched the numbers around and was 21. But without Tony I probably wouldn't be racing so the 01 is for him. I might bring out the 181 someday in the future though, just for nostalgia.

Darrell was a good guy. I was pretty young when he passed, but I remember going over to his house and watching USAC on ESPN 2 with my grandma and grandpa when he was sick. Darrell Ray still comes out to the races a couple times a year and last year his boy told me that he was having a hankering to get back in it. That's all we need is another one of us out there huh?

I use to work with a guy by the name of Mike Harmon who said he use to help Darrell. Last year he told me that Darrell Ray was looking for a 2 Barrell car.

I think you should run 81 in honor of Great Uncle Darrell. If you think about it Dad has always run 18. Same number if your dyslexias.

Seriously, name it 81 and go for it. After all it's family tradition, and you cant go wrong there.

He is not fast enough to be 81 yet he could pull off the 118 or181 whatever Darrell Ray was cause he was NOT Darrell.

I use to love to watch the smooth tall cowboy but I gotta tell ya the nite he and Peters and a couple of others got in that wreck down the back chute of the half mile will live in my mind 4ever and makes my stomach turn!

Cheese the shop looks great, you've been hard at work! I may have a business proposal for you as to you putting a Mr. Pickup logo on your car. We don't have much money for advertising due to our owner being a little tight on things like that but if you need something on your car e-mail me so I can reply some possibilities to you. Here it is. In all of it's glory. Now before I get yelled at for not going to the car show I have many excuses. The tranny is out of the truck, we don't own a trailer that can be towed with a regular truck, I couldn't afford gas, this week is midterm week, and I just got the wing back today. And no, not that kind of tranny sickos.

To be in true form to uncle Darrell, all you have to do is add an 8 to your 01. Darrell's original # was 801. At one point (before you were born) the scorekeepers & SFS decided no more 3 digit #'s and that's when he went to 81. I think 61B would work just fine.

Car looks great cheese. I especially like the part on the wing right under the number! Sounds like we need to get that other truck of yours ready to pull a trailer. The good folks at Mr. Pickup can cater to all of your towing needs at the drop of a hat. For a little extra maybe we could even find you a tranny. Please specify requirements.

Sheila, I was going to, but every letter guy in Norman was out of 6's. They said that everyone had they just can't keep up with the demand haha.

Jeff, it will look better with some new rubber on it!

I know where there are spare 61's, all we need are B's (should we make your mom happy and have A's).

Another piece of # history, your dad did not start out as 18, but 181.
