When mufflers became mandatory at CA dirt tracks? I would imagine they were first required at tracks that are located closer to developed areas but I'd be interested to know more. Yes, maybe kind of a dumb question but as the saying goes, there's no such thing as dumb questions - only dumb people who ask questions!

if i remember correctly mufflers started appearing at the old san jose paved track in the mid 70's.
