What is the new Hoosier SC tire that the All-Stars press release is referring to? Says that only the SC-12, 15, & 25 are allowed for Florida.

The SC 12, 15, and 25 are Hooiser sprint spec tires. We ran them last year so there not really that new. 12 is soft with 25 being hard. hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply-but that wasn't what I meant. I know what the three SC tires are-I race myself. This appears to refer to a new tire altogether. Here's the article from TJ Slideways:

From ASCoC: CAMARGO, IL - The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions would like to notify all competitors who are headed to Florida in February that the Florida Department of Transportation has a new permit that is required for any truck and trailer combination that is longer then 65 feet.

The permit can be obtained online on the Florida DOT website. The permit carries a $20 fee. The fine for not having the permit is $1,000. To visit the Florida DOT Permit website, please go to www.fdotmaint.com/permit. (To identify the load simply enter "Enclosed Trailer" and check Straight Truck with Trailer.)

Also, Drivers should note that mufflers are not required at either North Florida Speedway or at Volusia Speedway. In addition, for the Florida races only, the new Hoosier SC compound will not be allowed. The Hoosier SC12, 15, and/or 25 will be required for these races based on the 2007 All Star rules. If you have any questions, please contact Butch Sherwin with the All Stars. For the 2008 All Star rule book, go to www.allstarsprint.com and visit the Rules & Procedures section. www.allstarsprint.com

I would like to shed some light on this subject, but I only posted what I was told to post. I do not have any other info other than Hoosier is working on - or has already made available - another SC (or RD) compound for 2008. Call Hoosier and maybe they can fill you in. I do not have the specs or info - only that they will not be used in Florida.
