Yes, another Larson subject.

Will Larson every become the bad guy, as in the Donnie Schatz, or the Steve Kinser, when fans are booing him for winning too much?

At Knoxville Raceway, not necessarily at the Nationals, it's been the Dude and Brown for a while.

The tearing down of a banner did it for me. The King or Don Don would never win that way. Honk honk. In all seriousness IMO if course I don't find him polarizing enough for a lot of hate coming his way. I'd say 60 percent are pro Larson maybe 30 percent negative and the other 10 don't really care

At the drivers introduction He got a % of boos. No matter who you are there will always be some detractors. Kyle admitted that He wasnt sure if yellow for banner was for him. The way the race went Pursley was there and running out of fuel in pole shuffle could have made a difference. Kyle is shown He is one of the best ever and even when He has bad luck never makes himself look bad,

I am already there with Larson. But I still want to see him beat Hamlin and Joey and Bubba on the asphalt.

I have noticed the past couple of years a fair amount of boo's in the crowd when his name is announced. There are by far still more cheers than boos but, it is noticable versus what was there 5-7yrs ago. My dad for one cannot stand Larson and throws a wicked fit whenever he wins and even has said he doesn't want to go to a couple of races because he knows that Larson will win and does not want to see it. Heck he even bolted from the grandstands the past couple years a Knoxville when he won and goes on how he can afford all the best equipment and it isn't fair for all the other drivers. I replied to him, how do you explain when he wasn't running in the best equipment and was still winning? Or how he just won the race and was the only guy who didn't change tires. Eventually there comes a time to admit the guy is just that dang good but, at the same time you do not have to hate him because he wins.

Anybody who boo's a driver who races clean and honest is not a real fan of this sport, they just wandered into that track as part of a drunk crowd.  I've seen it too many times.

Buying a ticket allows you to cheer or boo a driver. It also allows the promoter to be able to host the event. Unfortunately some forget. The equiptment helps but all the top teams have the best .

I felt the same way about Donny for 20 years.  Now, I can finally reflect and what I witnessed was the arguably the cleanest, and most talented WoO career in history.  Relax diehard Kinser fans---I said arguably and it's just my opinion.

I'll have to talk some sense into your dad next year when we're having a beer under the grandstands!  wink

I understand Silva to be private and frugile. So when Paul wants to be thay way does Kyle whip out the checkbook and buy the better stuff? My point is, would Kyle throw money into the team as a hired driver? Are Pauls pockets as deep as the 1S, 15, 2 or 17?

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

No I don't believe Paul's pockets are as deep but their not running a full schedule of 80 to 90 shows either.

I don't think he'll ever become "the bad guy",  cause he doesn't race on dirt all the time. People got tired of watching Donny win, but when Kyle shows up, its a treat! Smile

I for one don't go to races i know KL will be there! I hate it when he wins, especially the nationals! I hate seeing that money not go to a full time SPRINTCAR driver not a spoiled crapcar guy! No doubt he is good at anything he drives! He's just not for me! Screw him and the big Rat and their HL series! Not a fan of their crapcar "charter member" crap! For me it will be LONG LIVE THE OUTLAWS! Not worth anything except to me, just my opinion.

I don't know why Kyle would have to fork out a dime.  There are some heavy hitters for sponsors on that car............much like many of the top rides with top dollar equipment.  Also, "better stuff?"   I'm not sure there is better stuff when comparing the top rides in the country.

I've never spoken to Paul, but I would  think that team's pockets are as deep as Kyle wants them to be. However Kyle knows Paul is frugal and trusts his judgement on if parts are still usable. I'm sure all of us have heard Kyle state they use race used tires, probably b/c of the traction control connected to Kyle's lower leg.

I like see Kyle race and win. To me it's no different than when Tony would show up and run sprints. Remember how much of a treat that was and was such a suprise when we didn't know instantly who was racing where.

With that said come Saturday night, if Kyle is leading, and someone like Logan, Brown, Day, Gio, or anyone else that hasn't won the Nationals yet, is getting ready to pass Larson, I'm cheering for the other guys not named Kyle.

One just remember one thing, Kyle weighs 135 pounds.  That gives him a great advange! ex king Steve couldnt fit into his suit, busting at the seams  for the last five years of racing. Then the Donut King has eating to many again and fading away  a dozen at a time.  Ya, ill catch chit for this but king and donut are the past, not the future so lets move forward to the future.  OLD fans of king and donut are just that, OLD, locked in  the past so dont stay stuck there...

ok, bring in on...

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

Awwww sounds like someone needs some attention. Are you trying to replace Strawser as the biggest dumbski on here? Because if you are your off to a good start.

The cars all have to meet minimum weight. At one time there was no weight rule and the cost of light weight parts was adding  to the cost. The 1200# Nationals was first to address problem and didnt take long until the run what you brung WOO series had a thicker rule book.

I'm glad you brought up the weight of the drivers and whose currently the best. While we're on this subject, Jan. 20th was a good day.

Larson has addressed the equipment situation with Silva.   He has all of the same "good" stuff as the other drivers.   What is different is that they may not have 3 brand new spares of everything or they may get more life out of their equipment than others have.   There is the video at Nationals of Silva dumpster diving to get some parts that another team had thrown away.   There is a difference between needing new parts and wanting new parts.
