Alright just for fun and discussion... what do you think, pros and cons
Since Kyle hinted that a merger was a possibility, what about something like this.
It does seem that HL and WoO running simultaneously did work last year. There were enough strong teams and enough respect in scheduling that you could have great shows runniung in different parts of the country. So if they did merge, what if there was like two equal divisions within one major national sprint car series? Kind of like the american league and national league of MLB
Throughout the year, one division (like the HL) could have big show at Husets or Jackson running for really good money like the HL has already been doing, while the other division (WoO) is in PA running for big money
Do that all year long, except have like 15-20 national show exceptions where both divisions are in attendance running. The obvious big shows Knoxville Nationals, The Open, Kings Royal and so on

There has been talk of the WoO doing another "Gumoutesque" series, this would be a perfect segway.

I think you will find what Kyle said was more tongue and cheek than anything else!
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

I'll riff on the concept to modeling something off stick & ball sports. I'd prefer not to see a merger between the two series, but how about something like the concept of a Super Bowl between the independant AFL and NFL football leagues? I wouldn't ever want to see playoffs of the stupid chase, BUT... I'd be down for a co-sanctioned year-end tour through some south west tracks in CA, AZ, NV, NM... something like a co-sanctioned speed week with and independent point fund and purse, crowning, and overall speed week champion for all the bragging rights! So, I guess it be sort of like a playoffs, but within a normal racing structure of a speed week format. I think that would rock :-)
