Great news!

Do you think they will get the 8/15/2025 High Limit race that was listed as "TBD" when the schedule came out a couple weeks ago ?

Be it Hunt or Abreu they will be welcomed back.  Didn't realize it's been 5 years since a race at Calistoga.  Fans loved the place as did most of the local busines people.  Racing brought a great deal of dollars to that town.

The promoter must feel confident this agreement is long term. To spend $100,000 on repairs for one event plus the sanction fee possibly and a purse is more than i would invest. I hope it works and both the track and the town benefit.

Why did it close 5 years ago?

Abreu Vineyards has gazillions and have been in the valley for decades.  Outlaws love the place, Donny owns a house there.  I AM glad they didn' t call you Rod...  =( ;  Would you make the trek down ever?  And yes, Ive been going there since the 70's...

The City of Calistoga owns the fairgrounds, including the speedway. The City acquired the property from Napa County earlier this year. The City is negotiating with the Hunts, who would promote races at the speedway for a few years. The current City Council very much supports the resumption of racing at the fairgrounds. I think everyone involved has a true appreciation for the race track.
