and people are upset saying it only rained for 15 minutes and that the drivers just didn't wanna race

I will be honest, the WOO does cancel pretty quicky sometimes, almost too quickly

There must be more to this story.  Depending on the source I check, the area has received a whopping .01 to .04 inches of rain in the last 24 hours!  And from what I see there is no more rain predicted. Last night, the track was a rubbered down mess for the latter part of the feature although the heats and B were good. I though it was cool to see Sammy make the dash on the night before his 69th birthday.

I get cancelling a show  if it looks like a small chance of getting it in - if it's before the weekend, to save teams the travel.  But damn, the teams were already there, temps are great,  folks at the track when it was cancelled were saying the grounds were fine, still dusty in some areas.

Kind of like the 34 raceway rainout. When a facebook post came out with a team shaking down there car on a track that looked perfect after they called it. 2/10ths shouldn't be enough to call it off.

An owner/crew member of a car told me there were cracks in the ground because it was so dry. The real reason for not running was that the track rubbered down last night, and the operators had only a sheep foot roller and a motor grader, so they would not have been able to get the track into suitable racing conditions.  Word was that the track had lost $30,000 last night.

It all makes sense now, after hearing others in the stands complaining that they wouldn’t sell them the 2 day General Admission passes at the gate yesterday. They had no plans of racing 2 nights here. The WoO officials that were around us near the press box acted like somebody ran their dog over just because they had to be there---facebook post

Did they ever address the catch fence issue?

seen video on facebook guy riding 4 wheeler around pits at Riverside after the brief shower proving the race was erroneously cancelled, they should express their disapproval to the WoO sponsors:

Sammy Swindell, Jeff Swindell, Bobby Davis Jr, Greg Hodnett, Jason Sides, Rickey Hood, Terry Gray, Landon Crawley all started their racing career at that little West Memphis bullring.

How about it Johnny Gibson, let's hear your take on why the race was cancelled?  Any, why couldn't it have been rescheduled for today?  There has to be more to this than just cancelling the race.

It was a mistake scheduling a race at that dump in the first place. It didn't look like they did anything to fix the fence where Bell went out of the park earlier in the year at the High Limit show.

Yeah, the track that used to be known for "incredibly tacky" now needs a new owner.   Hate to sound like Strawser but I've driven up there one time myself and watched a single lane race on an asphalt track.

I'm thinking they didn't, but don't know for sure.   The fences definetly aren't taller, and it looks like the same exact fence on video.   It's hard to tell whether or not they added cables to reinforce it.
