What happened to Colby Copeland last night(Friday)? Race Monitor had him coming in first but the official results have him in third.

Jumped the start and was set back two spots at the end of the race.  Credited with 3rd.

I always enjoy the trophy cup and I truly appreciate the cause that the money goes toward… Having gotten that out of the way the coverage on the Cushion streaming service of tonight's feature just sucks! Why are they talking about a battle for the lead that is tightening up while they are showing back markers fighting for 11th? Simple tip… Show that battle for the lead and we can talk about the overall points battle after that's over. If you are talking about the overall event points championship and the camera is focusing on that while I'm missing a nip & tuck battle for the lead I am not a happy camper!  "Cushion" streaming service, cut it out with the amateur hour! I've got much love for the overall cause of donating to make a wish, but at the end of the day I am tuning in to watch a sprint car race, and that means I want to see the battle for the freaking lead. OK, my rant is done :-)

Trophy Cup seems like this insanely cool event raising a ton of money for a great cause - until you get into live coverage/streaming aspect of it.

I've paid the $150 to The Cushion prior to the DirtVision/Knoxville deal. It was an absolutely abysmal experience. It just sucked.

If the organizers truly cared about a Make A Wish donation - I think Flo would easily contribute the back end production and bandwidth for the PR. Charge a goodwill donation of $50 directly to Make A Wish as a Flo subscriber and enjoy.

It's disheartening to hear about this amazing event that the nation can't enjoy.

A press release here on HH said that Kevin Rudeen is taking over the Trophy Cup next year.

Firstly, I know that a donation is made to the Make A Wish through the streaming of TC. That is great, and I believe MaW is a great cause.

I would like to see Flo and Kevin match (or even increase) the donation made to MaW and stream the TC on Flo next year. I think the viewing numbers would be big as I believe there are a good many of us who wish the event was on Flo.

Just my 2 cents.

I think I agree with your sentiment - if the goal is to raise money for Make A Wish, scaling to a larger base with a lower barrier to entry = success.

Yes this seems like a good idea.     The biggest races on Flo last night were USAC at IRP and the Lincoln Final 50 (which I am glad I watched).    Trophy Cup would be good content for later in the night and appeal to all of the the non posse/USAC sprint car fans.

I see that Corey Day won the Cup last night so that is more than $30,000 of non High Limit purse money for one of their full time drivers.    High roller Brent Marks also took home 20 grand by winning at Lincoln and leading at the halfway point.    Justin Peck and Cory Eliason also tasted victory this racing weekend.     High Limit has a great schedule which helps their drivers a lot.

What was that other series called that did the same but nobody talked about it? Allstars???? They had a schedule that allowed their drivers to race the crown jewels and local fairs too. I havent followed the series as long as some of you but i do know many Allstars joined the WoO for the big money shows and cluld race anywhere they wanted. So why is this pattern so extra exciting today as if its new ????

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

that is great news as Kevin is a true ambassador for our sport and look how he turned Skagit around, one of the NEW PREMIERE EVENTS...

Maybe they can change the dumbest format in the history of racing. "Who won Trophy Cup? Well we don't know until we tally the points but the guy who finished 1st on track was actually 12th." super

As far as I can remember they had no restrictions on where they could race.

The format is actualy what makes the event ,,, 2 races in 1 makes for a exciting event that being said ,,, they did change the format from yrs past the invert for the main last yr was high point started 16th this yr 24 ,,,, you have to be passing cars from the start if you are in one of the hight pointss position ,,,,, hope the never change the format its all about inversions and passing cars ......

Rod,

It was also exciting when All Stars won outside of the series.   Tim Shaffer won 100K at Mansfield OH.   A year ago the All Stars (Wise & Courtney) swept the WoO weekend at Port Royal.    The big difference this season is that the HL guys have been winning those kinds of events (and money) a lot more frequently than the ASCOC guys ever did.

Between the Dirt Cup (Skagit) and Trophy Cup, Corey Day has won over 100K in just those 2 weekends.

I agree. The format is really bad. Completely opaque.

The major difference is that the All Stars were a regional series with a smaller schedule not a national series runnin 80-90 races.  Those teams would us the All Stars as a spring board to learn how to travel and run different tracks weekly.  The teams were a mix of bigger budget teams that couldn't run nationally, those teams would run the bigger races during off weekends.  The other lower budget teams would run more local stuff, and were looking to make a name for themselves.

Inversions and passing cars, well that almost sounds illegal these days. You do understand that is not how racing today is supposed to be, right? It's all about a fast time trial and starting up front. At least that is what Today's modern fans are spewing as gospel. Personally I like inversions and seeing cars pass each other but maybe I'm to old for this sport anymore. The format is different and it must work as it's a bucket list race for many race fans and teams.

I don't like any format that you need a scoreboard to figure out who won or where you will start the next race. Passing points suck !

Racing to me has ALWAYS been who has the fastest driver/car combo. Earn what you get.
