So what do you think? Are two premier 410 series actually good for the overall sport?
At the beginning of the year it was interesting. Are there enough stars and big teams to put on big good paying races several states apart on the same night? Absolutely
But now as the year is winding down, it's kind of a bummer for me to have the two series on opposite ends of the country. In the past, it was fun to pick up the outlaws on streaming for their big Fall shows and know you were watching all the best of the best. Just not that way anymore.
For me and this is just one opinion of a long time sprint car fan, the only way this is helpful and actualy make the overall sport of 410 winged sprint car racing better is if the two series can come up with something like the CHAMPIONSHIP series which would consist of something like the top 8-10 races from Spring to Fall that both HL and WoO agree on. You could still have big HL and WoO shows all year all over the country, but having those 8-10, not just Knoxville, sprinkled throughout the season would be great for the sport IMO

I see what you're saying, but McDonald's and Burger King aren't going to team up anytime soon on limited days to benefit their customers. It would be cool to see this happen, but unrealistic. They are competing businesses. Nothing more.

I still just go to a race and watch whoever shows up and don't worry about what the others are doing. I do look up their results later. Where I live there will be 24 good cars on the track at feature time for either group. And a pretty good field for non sactioned races.

It will be interesting to see how sustainable the High Limit tour is. They've been doing start up things to try and get market share but that will only take them so far. It will also be interesting to see how many races they have next year. Will it be more than 55-60? Will they try to fill in some of the empty weeks they had this year. It doesn't make sense to let the WoO benefit by letting their drivers race with them for weeks on end and have the series idle.

It's always been that way there used to be 3 tracks that ran on Saturdays. So you like to see the stars? That's fine but some people like the local shows there's nothing wrong with that. I choose to support my local tracks because they need it to survive. I do not support any particular organization because they don't need me as much as my local tracks do.

Then you never really went to many races in Pa then because they've been running races for a long time and there was never a time with the sat night tracks where all 24 were "quality starters". Look we all know who you put the cheerleader outfit on for ok it's getting redundant. So you don't support your local tracks? That's fine but there's no reason to look down your nose on people that do. Because when the tracks disappear I dont want to hear any bitching and moaning about your reasons why it happened.

What are you babbling on about? 20 is too much? Are you talking about admission or car counts, or what? Consider proofreading your posts before hitting send.

I'm thinking 20 bucks or 20 cars is his breaking point.

"there were a lot more quality care" ?
Since dirt track racing began, each year has been pretty much the same at every track. There's usually one standout team and 2 to 4 other teams that are almost as fast and always a threat to win. Behind them is a group of teams/racers that are climbing up the ladder or past their prime and slowing down. The balance of the field is newbies, out of towners and guys fullfilling their fantasies of driving a race car.
How you frame your good old days doesn't really alter the reality much.

Don't jump to conclusions. It could be IQ points. It's not really clear.

Good point. The only thing clear is the same old bs.

I think IQ is probably what it refers to. He's a genius in his own twisted and hateful mind.

Honestly i think the split is working. High Limit is a much better show than the all stars. since the outlaws don't come to my part of the state anymore (W Pa ).i attend more HL races. The Star power i think is equal and that like anything is my opinion . 43 cars at Lernerville tonight. nice show . I can only hope that they both get bigger and better. Sprint car racing is doing well and i like it

I think it has been great for 410 racing. I have metioned several times that one series cannot sustain 28 national teams which we have now. There a possibility for more next year. Cole Macedo for sure. Several rumors about some driver changes and series changes for drivers too.

The split: Thumbs Up- *More top-level sprint car races this year *More room for some new talent to show their abilities. For example, Day and Kofoid might not have stood out as much if there was only one series. *Competition made the WoO step up their game a bit. *Purses seemed to rise. *More local teams seemed to come out and race against the big dogs.
Thumbs down: *Splitting the sport meant splitting the talent. I'm ok with that. *The two groups do not play well together, which is to be expected. Coke and Pepsi are the same way, and for the same reason-they are competitors. *The split turned a faie amount of internet know-it-alls into internet know-it-all jerks. It's ok to like both groups. The world isn't all black and white.
This N That: *Regardless of which series, the better racing by far seemed to occur on the smaller tracks. *The split allowed some teams- like Roth and Shark Racing- to split and try out both worlds *Having 2 top level sprint car series allowed more opportunities for most low budget local guys to become field fillers. *I don't feel like the split helped safety or costs in any noticable way. You can say the purses are higher, but let's be honest. That's just inflation. *I forsee in a couple years that the two will merge back into one series. I'd expect that series to have a major league and a minor league type set-up.:

It'll be interesting to me to compare next year's schedule of both to what they've had this year. And how many tracks that had HL shows with marginal attendance will try again.

If he's claiming $20 is too much for a regular show in 2024, with operating costs going through the roof, he's a bigger idiot than we previously thought. I don't know how tracks can survive on weekly admission the way it is anyways. He must be talking about something else. As you stated, it would be nice if there was a label on the "20" so we knew what it meant.
