After watching port and now watching Hanford (with a world 100 wedged in there) got me thinking. How cool would it be if the woo and hl could work together to have say a 3 race series in California. With the close proximity of them going west the hl could race their west coast swing and finish up with the 3 race swing and then the woo could start their west coast swing at those 3 tracks and then continue on their swing. Have like a mini series with big money on the line. My mind goes back to the days when Cali had the civil war series which I think would be cool to bring back the name for this said series. With Tulare and Hanford both holding each series shows, you would only need one more track to go along with it. Might be a fantasy but I think it would be pretty neat.

Sitting here thinking more. What if they took this approach and made it a 12 race series, 4 weekends. You could have the west coast 3, say a PA 3, a midwest 3, and a south 3. I know that I am not writing the check to make it all happen, but I think there could be 12 tracks in these regions that could make it work. Just a thought.

Never heard of it. I would guess this series might add some prestige to it. (Sarcasm). I guess between knoxville and eldora, the rest of the country doesn't deserve to be part it.

It might be pretty cool, but I can't see the Outlaws giving any kind of boost or validation to the High Limit Series. Remember they are in direct competition with each other. If I was a business owner, the last thing I would want to give a competitor company (a new one that is trying to establish itself) is a more firm footing towards success. All the Outlaws want, as the established standard in sprint car racing, is for the High Limit Series to go away. Folks can criticize this all they want, but what entity wants competition whether it is good for the sport or fans or anything else. High Limit wants a slice of the pie that the Outlaws have had a hold on for a very long time and the Outlaws want to continue with the entire pie like any other business!
I don't know about the particulars regarding the drivers, crews and car owners in each series. This is just from a business aspect regarding the post about bringing both together for a competitive mini-series.

Why California? The Civil War was basically won within an hour of all of the central PA tracks. Better location? Haha. J/K

There would have been a showdown with both series represented well in June at Husets if it weren't for those dang meddling kids! Oops, that should read Mother Nature.

Really the thought for California was just a thought back to the civil war series and with the woo currently in California. Although geographic wise it would go on the eastern side of the states. I will say that I am not biased one way or the other when it comes to woo and hl, but I wish woo would take a step back and breathe some, realize that they can both benefit each other. Spending much of my life in the late model world, once the woolms and lucas oil quit trying to cut each other's throat, everyone started to figure out there was room for 2 national series. Instead of one big show, now there were 2 big shows each night. And 48 guys making at the least start money each night instead of 24. If you think about it 410 sprint car racing is thriving right now, even in a time when parts and pieces have at the least doubled in price. If you cut back to one national series, there is not enough troughs in the barn for everyone to eat. With more teams reaching the 100,000 dollar mark than ever before, you can not deny sprint car racing is becoming healthier.

Well world of outlaws average around 30 cars and the high limit averaged around 45 cars in each event on the West Coast swing and the hanford woo show was a train wreck as the high limit show at hanford was great.

Hi gang, For you young people out there, I well remember the American Football League and NationalFootball League as separate entities and the contract signings of college kids on the field as soon as the Senior Bowl or North-South and East-West games were played and they finally merged into the AFC-NFC mega NFL.. How about the old American Basketball Association vs the established National Basketball Association, when they merged not all ABA teams were absorbed. And don't forget the World Hockey Organization vs the National Hockey League. The NHL kept four of the WHO teams when they merged. The point I am trying to make is sooner or latter one of these two racing sanctioning bodies will outlast the other. How about USAC and CART. Tony George started the IRL to insure the Indy 500 would continue. When CART tried to down play the 500, it did not work and eventually they came back and formed the new Indycar. High Limit has outlasted the two other upstart sprint organizations that bucked WoO. But sooner or later, based on the past results, one will take over the other

WoO and Lucas Oil latemodels both have survived. They have actually found away to get along well and cooperate/coexist just fine. Two great series. I think sprint car racing was ready and needed for 2 series. I think another factor will be sponsorship. Both series have good corporate sponsorship too.

We missed out on Gravel vs Sweet, Buddy vs JMac, Day vs Geo, and so many greats vs other greats.
This was a pretty despressing season because of the amount of talent we could have witnessed competing against the greatest talent.
Kind of heart broken.
