We all know racing around 30 times more would be more expensive.  There calculator must have been bad.

It's not more expensive if you finish well.

Yes, they should've listened to you, you've done what again?  Meanwhile you got these two idiots like Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart who have never done anything business wise.  I'm shocked they didn't listen to you or at least consult you since you're such an expert at track prep?  What is it you do again that makes you such an expert at everything?

Don't know who will be racing where nor do I care. Both have had great races and a great group of drivers. If they are racing within a reasonable distance from me then most likely I am loading up the car and going. I have no desire to see one fail or not watch one because of (insert 100 stupid reasons here). The whole 20+ years of people wishing and hoping for WoO demise is starting to get more than annoying now. By all accounts they should have folded 15yrs ago to some people. Some people thought that High Limit would be the end of the Outlaws but having been to several races this year, based on ticket sales and most likley views/subscriptions, its going to be awhile. Not sure if these people were fired or their old lady was stolen by management or what but its not going to happen. Although I like High Limit and the drivers, I feel they will be around a little while and even though not everything is perfect I think they have something that will last for sometime as well. As long as the Flo continues to back it, we may be in with 2 series for quite sometime now.

I would absolutely think you would be better at math, calculations, and financial decisions than Smoke, Schatz, and the entire TSR organization.  Idiot.

Interesting topic that we've skimmed over a few times. I too, do not see a lot of changes. If Donnie, said it was a coin flip, then what I've heard Donnie state contradicts that. I think the fans, drivers, and even the WOO would love to hear a more vocal DS.

How many teams can comitt to running two years with the potential of not getting a charter? Isn't that thee biggest factor in deciding not to run with the WOO?  After this year the HL series should have a good idea of how much revenue would be shared from streaming.

Also what happens to the Jason Myers racing team's charter if they can't or do not want to run FT HL next year?

Agreed.   The Outlaws and their schedule are a perfect fit for Donny.

1.  He runs a business Monday - Friday.     The HL mid week shows would interfere with that.

2.  Most WoO shows are on weekends when he is available.

3.  He has an airplane to travel between the races and Fargo ND quickly and efficiently.

I just can’t picture Donnie racing with HL no matter how pissed off Tony gets with the WoO….

Donnie did actually say it came down to calculating hotels and travel $$$.  If someone could dig up that interview, that would be fantastic.  I cannot for the life of me remember who was interviewing him when he disclosed it.

You are assuming that WoO would race 30 times more than HL this year.  According to SprintCar stats, this is not holding true.  SprintCar stats shows that the top HL guys have run more than the top WoO guys.  The difference would be 4-6 times so far this year.

i believe that trend would hold true for the rest of the year.  It would appear that HL guys are running big events under the WoO sanction in which they get no tow money, no bonus money, and no season ending points.

i am sure those guys can afford to do that, but it would also even out the expenses between the 2 sides.

Apparently the WoO rules about outside events has a side effect of saving those teams some money.

Just wish the HL guys had tried to work out a mid week series with the team WoO.  As I recall, Sweet said at the outset last year that it was not their intent to compete with WoO.  Based on an interview I saw with Sweet, it was Larson who talked him into it.

You are right most times the Hl guys are taking the highest amount of the purse when they run together.

If i understand this right, the charters are for the car owners. If they get one, they can sell it to another car owner if they choose not to run the series anymore. The teams will also get tow money on a tiered system of $600, $500, or $400 pending on where they are at in the point standings or performance (not sure which). This will keep the possibility for new teams to join the series. The drivers will run for the points championship and point fund. I believe I also heard there is the potential for 4 more charters on top of the 10 for sure that will be handed out.

All in all having 2 touring series has really allowed the growth of sprint car racing. There is actually the real possibility a sprint car driver (Gravel) will win over a million dollars this year without winning a million dollar to win race. I believe that will be a first. The latemodel drivers have had about 10 the last few years win over or pretty close to that amount. No way one series could support 28 national touring drivers (which we currently have) or more. Rumors have it there could be 20 on each series next year (I doubt that though).

If some one is in the know or heard of rumors, I have yet to hear if HL is going to do some kind of rookie of the year deal for drivers in the future or what their future plan for that is, or are they just concentratiing on the charters at this time with veteran teams?

Well said, I agree 100%. Sprint car racing is ready and needs 2 series. I hear that the outlaws need to let their drivers race more. I do agree, however, how much more could they trully race. They are racing almost every weekend. If the outlaws increased their freebies to 8 or 10, how many would actually do that or could do that. I like how HL has put together a solid schedule for really good money and scheduled around the outlaws bigger races. This allows their drivers to race with them or take time off or race other races.

Ya, cause another couple grand for a driver is a horrible idea right?

But at leat the Outlaws give out a cheesy $5 plaque to the "fan of the race"!

Like I said the calculator broke.  There is no way you can race more a lot of the time for less than 15,000.00 grand and make out better.  Sorry the math doesn't add up.
