They say I'm insane, but a run from Skagit races Saturday to Husets finale Sunday night, is in my cards.

I'm retired and need a really good fix of two top notch races.

My computer says 23 hours to Husets

State Troopers beware......lol.

If Skagit finishes at 11pm it will already be 1am in SD. Would love to see it but figure out a plane schedule, you'll still be my hero.

For what it's worth, the speed limit on interstate highways in South Dakota is 80 mph and everyone will pass you if you only go 80.

This is the kind stuff legends are made of. You will need to AVERAGE 86mph and you can allow yourself the luxury of 4, 15 minute fuel and pee stops, that puts you at 19 hours. 2 time zone changes puts you at husets 21 hours (on the clock) after you left. leave at midnight, get to husets at 9PM.

Hope for no reds on sarutday at skagit and you can bet your ass Quiring is going to farm like there is no tomorrow at husets for all to see. I'd bet money you will see both A mains.

In 2002 I did Phoenix to New Brighton, MN.......1780 miles. 25 hours, 5 stops, my little B3000 loaded down with 800 pounds of motorcycle and everything else I owned. Thought I was going to die until the sun started coming up on I-80 in Nebraska and then I knew I had it made. Get a Johnny jug and a Jerry can. Don't mix them up. Good luck you sumbich.

Exiting Skagit when there is a big crowd can be a bitch. So my recommendation, Hardhead, is to dash to your car the moment the checked falls at Skagit. Otherwise, you could lose 30 to 45 valuable minutes just trying to get out of the parking lot. Good luck!

Ask Corey Day for a lift. You'll get there fast.

Seriously. I don't think there's a faster car right now in the country. Corey Day is on the edge of doing a lot of special stuff in a sprint car. 21 up to 4 tonight at Skagit.

Back in 2010, I made Moro Bay CA to the Chili Bowl in 22 hours.  I did sleep for 30 minutes un TX.  I didn't have a ticket or a hotel, but it all worked out.  As for Day, I'll take Sanders 6 days a week and twice on Sunday.

Big fan of Sanders. Shook his hand last night and wished him good luck after the feature. Wondering if we will see him on more of a national stage in the coming years. I hope so.
