Thank you to the moderators for taking out the trash.
I was a moderator on a message board for a number of years. It was a thankless job that was a lot of work. Try as you might, it seemed like you couldn't make anyone happy. My friend has a word that describes the experience- 'un fun'. Most folks on a message board want to talk to others about their common interests. In this case, it's sprint car racing. A small minority use message boards just for attention and tend to ruin it for the good people.
We don't need to rehash the past. We do all owe the moderators our thanks for keeping Hoseheads going in the right direction. Thank you moderators.

Thank you moderators for flushing the P down the toilet.
I don’t think PeteP and Glhayden are the same human. Glhayden was funny, creative, and obviously a fan of dirt track racing. Sometimes I wondered what he put in his coffee (acetone maybe ?) to make him spit fire like he did on here but overall I enjoyed his contributions and creativity. PeteP on the other hand….

When Jeff built me that 'block and delete user' tool a year or so ago, it really helped rid this forum of all those daily 'cash for gold' and 'fake ID' scammer posts.
Sometimes there were up to 20 of them a day and it was really disruptive to all of us.
Now it only happens a few times a week and I can zap them in one click.
Plus, users have toned down some of the bashing and rhetoric quite a bit along the way as well.
This is a unique forum, in that, it truly is a place for people to come to ask questions and get answers specific to sprint car racing and share their at-track experiences.
I honestly can't remember how long I've been moderator here, I know it's been at least a dozen years since Allan asked me to help him out with it, and this forum has definitely improved in content with less bashing and rhetoric the past few years, so thanks for that.
Just note that Allan also has the 'block and delete user' function on his end - and he's not afraid to use it. So please take that as a gentle warning before one of you happen to think about posting something that is really off-the-rails. As he also has blocked the ability for new users to join the forum at the moment, so please take that into consideration.
I just like to look at sprint car racing (and general short track racing) as the one place people can escape from the toils of everyday life and all share the at-track experience as one group of people that are there for the sport. And this forum should echo that sentiment between race nights.
Enjoy your racing weekend - where ever that may take you! Last night's wild action certainly set the stage for things to come!

I sincerely apologize for my comments and regret the turmoil I may have caused. I'm very well aware of what it's like to moderate a message board as I had a website and HH board. I have shut down all social media and am getting some help. I've done that before and the next day is worse than waking up next to the fattest gal that was at the bar. Just a terrible shitty feeling to have a public meltdown and be disliked to the point where people are threatening my son out in public. I admit to losing my shit and struggling for a couple days. You can rest assured that I will do everything within my power to avoid social media and discussion forums in the future. I apologize to Donny Schatz and his crew guy Lanman as well. I doubt that they even look at this but in case they were aware of it I'm sorry. This is the most difficult apology of my seventy three years but I had to say it. I won't blame anyone if I am denied access so feel free to do that if you think it's in the best interest of the HH Forum.

I've always appreciated your perspective on here Stan and it would be a shame to see you go away but I understand if you do. You can't let one rotten apple spoil the rest of the bunch or some shit like that you just throw it out.

No worries, I'm in the process of getting rid of twenty years of racing pics and fifty years of memories. It's all going to the paper I wrote for. I wrote a dozen or so articles for Flat Out and have a bunch of Open Wheel magazines I'm giving the publisher as well. I need to make a clean break and stop interacting with other racing fans. I'm still cool with racing and still have the 74n next door running with the Outlaws tonight and tomorrow at Jackson. I drop in over there once in a while and kept Floracing. Here I am checking back every half hour to see what people are saying. The Way I look at it I send out annyoing posts, piss people off every time I open my mouth so I'm actually very presidential (mic drop) but people can't see that. This board will be fine without me stirring things up.

Thank you for your work. Your second to last paragraph says it best and that's just how I try to act. I have my political views and sometimes wonder how people can't see it the way I do lol. But I know this, I love sprint car racing, and even though I don't think I personally know any of you, I like all of you here way more than I like Trump, Biden or Kamala. I know that none of them truly give a shit about me and at the end of the day they just want my vote. So there's no way I'm personally going to sacrifice a friendship (even if it's virtual) over those three or any other political candidate.
But I have some questions or statements for the people who do like to argue politics. First off why? What are you accomplishing by arguing this? Has anyone seen an argument here where someone says something along the lines of "You're a fucking idiot for thinking this" and the other person says "You're right, I'll vote for the giant douche instead". Political arguments get no where. Also if you decide to quit talking to everyone of your friends because they don't see it your way. Even if all of those people decided to vote the way you want them to, would it change the outcome of the election? This is the USA, everyone is entitled to their own opinions even if you don't like them. And IF you were to come out to your car one morning and it wouldn't start. Who do you think would help you? Where will Trump, Biden or Kamala be there? But that neighbor who you don't like because he voted different than you might have been.
I hate to break it to everyone but as far as the presidential election goes, your vote means nothing. Also you don't have enough influence to change how enough other people vote at least not enough to influence the election. Just enjoy life and enjoy the good people around you, even if they vote different from you. Sorry rant over.

Exactly hardon! Nothing turns me off quicker than a group of people turning a conversation in a political direction, regardless of which party they favor. I will remove myself from that conversation as quickly as possible. Step into the voting booth and pull the lever for whoever you want to, but I don't need to ****ing hear about it!

Its damn near impossible to change the opinion of the person you're arguing with, you're right on that
The reason I argue politics is to convince the "undecideds" who might be reading
& Every vote counts... not individually, but they add up

While I agree politics really have no place on this Sprint Car Forum and I wish people would check them at the door, now that it's been brought up I have to respectfully disagree on one point.
If a majority of people thought like you did and didn't bother to vote, then you would have a minority of people picking who's policies best represent their wishes or views running the country. That's why I always say every vote counts in local, state and Federal elections every vote is important if you care about the direction our country is going. That's all the talk about politics I care to have on this forum...
