I am talking total wins with Ricky and then total wins after Ricky was no longer there.  How many champions has he won without Ricky?  Hint- it is a nice round number.

Let's look at the win totals I will start in 2006. I think if I remember right Ricky joined Stewart racing in 2005.

2006 - 17:wins

2007 -19 wins

2008 - 18 wins

2009 - 12 wins

2010 - 5 wins

2011- 8 wins

2012 - 11 wins

2013 - 23 wins

2014 - 26 wins

2015 - 31 wins

2016 - 25 wins

2017 - 20 wins

2018 - 22 wins - last full year with Ricky.

2019 - 11 wins

2020 - 5 wins

2021 - 3 wins

2022 - 3 wins

2023 - 5 wins

2024 - 3 wins so far.  He is racing a lot better this year.

He had good success before Ricky yeah his best years were with him but they were Ricky's best years also. And yes he did struggle without him but there were other factors that I'm sure you don't wanna hear. But Ricky hasn't come close to the years he had with Donny so cut the King maker crap.

Ricky is a proven King maker!

Remember how he had walker running?

What were the big wins with Tyler? Sure he was fun to watch but they weren't dominating anything?

He was on the crew chief for Tyler.  He crewed for at least 5 guys before going to Schatz and becoming his crew chief.  I think Joey Saldana, Jac,  and Randy Wolfe.  I know there is at least one more I can't think of.

Rico looks like Rico has always looked and Schatz looks like a racer in his twilight years having his last hurrah.  Next thing you know, someone will try to tell me the only reason Larson's car came to the front the last three nights is because Silva was wrenching on it.  Doesn't hurt, but Larson is the reason that car came all the way to the front.  The reason RW has all of those Nats on his resume is because Donny was in the seat of the car he wrenched on.  I'm not really sure how this isn't obvious by now to everyone.  Rico could very well win the Nats this year----he's always been good there.  He's always been very good there.  If RW pulls off another win as a car chief, it's because he earned the right to work with the best drivers.  Rico is very good.  Let's not pretend RW is gonna draw a name from a hat and make their career explode.

While we're on the subject of obvious, how good are Rico's odds of toppling Cory Eliason during the Nationals this year?  Since he's equal to, or even better than Donny, I'm assuming that's who Rico and RW have their eyes on.

He started with Kevin Gobrecht's family team and I believe he worked in NASCAR for a little.

Why is it so hard to realize two people who are great at what they do created a great team when they work together.  They have their own strengths and perhaps we overlook their team skills of making others perform better. Who really cares who is better or best and why does it matter?

Even though I may not know you, I

I agree totally it was two great talents coming together at the right time and their numbers can be compared to the greatest driver/mech combo ever. I have gained a lot of respect for Donny since that run and I live in Pa where he was enemy number 1. I just push back on the whole he needs Ricky to have success when he's proved that's not true.

Ricky made Schatz 100% better when he was his crew chief.  The proof is in the stats!

For the first time in many years Donny is running better.  But he still only has 3 wins.  I don't think so, if Larson doesn't break, he is the car to beat.  Just get him in the field and he will do the rest.

You don't think he was running well in 2022? That's the year of his last Knoxville Nationals win, when Rick Warner's driver Rico finished 13th in the A and Cory Eliason finished 15th in the B.

Yes but,

The only reason Steve Kinser won all those Knoxville National titles was because Karl was wrenching on his car. I mean, Steve had more Knoxville titles with Karl than he did with Scott Gerkin. Fact! The stats show it. (Am I doing this right?)

Karl also won with Dick Gaines and Mark, but who knows they were all great

Ricky joined him in 2005 before that he had 7 seasons of double digit wins 5 with the Outlaws 13,17 ,10,16,and 12. Do you even know where Ricky was before that I do but do you?

Yeah, good for him.  How many championships was that? A nice round number?  Schatz was 100% better with Ricky.  Not much without him afterwards!  Ricky is a King maker!! Schatz is a very good driver and Ricky made him!

There's no point in discussing anything with you, you just keep repeating the same tired points. I read a long time ago to never argue with an idiot because then you will have two idiots, I will try to remember that when post your same old bullshit.

Nope you can't handle the truth!  Ricky made Shatz 199% better!  Where are the championships without Ricky?  None!  You are the one that can't see what is right in front of your face! Schatz did win races before Ricky but he wasn't consistent enough to win the championship!  Ricky changed that.

You are the one being an idiot!

You are proving my point.  Thanks!  Ricky is a KING maker!  That is the bottom line....yes he had a lot of help a lon the way, but he listened to those lessons and when he called the shots he was one of the best at it.  Very few in front of him as far as a crew chief!
