Excuse me. I speak jive. I think I can translate what he's trying to say...
You have to be a WoO Platinum member to be allowed to have your merchandise trailer at a WoO show. Since the High Limit guys opted out on that, their revenues would take a hit if they raced there. Eldora may have different rules that allow all racers to have merchandise trailers there. Cut me some slack, Jack. Jive-ass ain't got no brains anyhow.
|
You are correct. The Eldora races are non point races I believe, so that is a loop hole to allow all drivers to have their souvenir trailers there. Just like Knoxville and Husets. As far as HL guys not racing Attica I think it is just a simple thing as choice. They don't have to and probably more focused on Eldora.

Like I said I saw a good race without them. It is a shame the outlaws have that stupid rule though. Anyone at any race should be able to sell their merchandise at the track if they are racing.
Anyone has more brains than you. Even a man with dementia!

Maybe you're too young to get the reference. Google Airplane! Jive scene.

Don't know don't care. But I heard somethings in the stands that make sense! I am not going to share. Don't know if these people are right or not without talking to some of the drivers personally.

IDK if Knoxville is the exception but multiple HL and NON WOO guys were on the fairgrounds selling tee shirts for the 2 - day show.
Keep It Real

The King's Royal has the dumbest format ever invented in the history of sprint car racing, so this makes zero sense.
|
I couldnt agree more. Formats make big shows, and IMO the entire 4 day show at Eldora is somewhat lessened by the format. I could care less about WoO v HL. I am just enjoying watching all the guys come together for a big show. The fans are winning, who cares about where dudes come from. I have never been a fan of big inverts. Especially when qualyfing is so heavy on points and important. So you qualify very good, congrats, now go sit behind 8-9 other cars that are .3 slower than you and have fun trying to make that up in dirty air and without wrecking your equipment driving your arse off on the first lap.

You have to fly to qualify with this format. Knoxville and this weekend have the best formats for the fans. That is why the attendance is growing at both of these races.

Races last night were fantastic! Doty should pay a few more dollars that way it would draw a few more outsiders coming in for the Big E races and this HL vs Woo pick 1 is a flipping joke I mean for cryin out loud the WOO and Lucas Late models have co-existed and worked together for years now just my thoughts!!!

Everyone wins when the best show up. Last nights format saw 48 drivers getting a check. Great promtion HL vs WOO but both series have about same quality of drivers at the top. In my opinion HL has a little better roster when Kyle races but WOO has some names equal just not as deep.

Give it some time and the 2 series will co-exist better. As far as the Doty goes it reminds me of the Iron Man at I55. The Doty does pay 15k to win on a Tuesday night and draws a Huge crowd and upper 40 cars every year. It will be hard to ask a track/promotors to do much different when you get that kind of turn out. I have always felt the Iron Man scheduled against the 360 Nationals weekend was terrible, but always got a nice crowd on Friday and big crowd on Saturday. Car counts between 28 and 39 (record for this race). I always felt they should move it and maybe make it a crown jewel type of event, but when tracks/promoters are getting what they want not going to change. If it ain't broke, no need to make it better. It finally got a purse increase this year for both nights.

Knoxville has a great format. I dont agree with inverting 8 as I think 6 is enough, esp when everyone is so close now days. Kings Royal format and anytime you see spinning wheels -- just tells you the format is dumb. or hokey. At least with Knoxville you can add points up for straight up starting on Saturday. Not some wheel. Or other crap. That shit gets in the way of things like quick time. If you want all that stuff, then go ahead and pull starting positions for the heat at registration adn build in passing points. Scrap qualyfing.
