I will be the first to admit I am not an expert.  Just a fan.

According to Jeremy Elliott from Sprintcar Unlimited,   the Platinum Drivers can race in the next 8 days and it won’t count against their 4 non WoO races.

“World Racing Group CEO Brian Carter decided to temporarily lift restrictions on World of Outlaws Sprint Car drivers from July 1st to July 8th. The reason, the series has lost 14 races, or 31 percent of the schedule this season. We discuss the move on this edition of the SprintCarUnlimited 90 at 9.”

You do not know when the drivers were told.  The rain out on Friday probably pushed this forward.

The WoO drivers are free to race when they want and where they want.  The 12 regulars decided to take some guaranteed money and signed a contract.  The WoO champ is looking at $100,000 bonus on top of prize fund.  They also have tow money guaranteed.  I am not sure how that works if there is a rainout.

The HL guys said they wanted to race less.  So far, they have raced more than the WoO guys.  They have won more total dollars, but their average winnings per event is about the same as the top 3 WoO.

i don't think we can say how this will play out until the season is over.

the HL limit guys said they wanted to race less? can we see the link you have where that was said please and thanks...

If you read my original comment, you will see that I stated they had won more money, but had run more events.

your stats are accurate, but also a week later than my stats.  I suspect that your numbers and the numbers I had seen came from the same source, Sprint Car Stats.

i have noted that you tend to attack other posters.  I am not sure why you feel the need to do so, but since you are apparently 18, now I know why.

The top 4 or 5 guys in each series are good drivers with good equipment.

in response to your other question, I do not have a readily available quote.  Seemed to be fairly common knowledge that HL's idea was to race fewer events ,but with higher purses per event courtesy of Flo.  If you look at the original schedules for each, I believe WoO had 84 and HL had 63.  That would seem to support what I felt was their intent.

i have never made any claims that I favor one series over the other.

i thought this board was about friendly banter among Sprint Car fans.  Apparently, you think this is a test of your manhood.

Seems pretty clear the High Limit schedule was carefully crafted to give their teams an opportunity to go win Outlaw money. And it makes sense - put together a 60ish great paying series that can be supplemented by big time Outlaw events elsewhere? Great strategic move.

The best racing this weekend includes the rescheduled Gopher 50 WoO LM race at Deer Creek.  I photographed a few Gopher 50's while they were still running at Owatonna.  That's where I first met Shannon Babb and shot the breeze in the infield while he was waiting to qualify.  I don't watch a lot of Late Model races anymore but try to catch the ones taking place close to home.

The other hilite of the weekend will be my neighbor 410 rookie Luke Nellis 74n giving Knoxville a try for the first time.  I have modest expectations with best case scenario making the A Main without tearing anything up.

No traveling circuses running this weekend so we don't have to endure another driver by driver comparison of the two traveling series.  Sprint Car racing was a passion for eighteen years from age ten to twenty eight before the Outlaws even existed.  In my early days it was IMCA and USAC as the two main sanctions at the Minnesota State Fair.  The banner on the fence is going to change several times during most people's lifetimes.  The racing is the only constant.
