According to Jeremy Elliott from Sprintcar Unlimited,   the Platinum Drivers can race in the next 8 days and it won’t count against their 4 non WoO races.

“World Racing Group CEO Brian Carter decided to temporarily lift restrictions on World of Outlaws Sprint Car drivers from July 1st to July 8th. The reason, the series has lost 14 races, or 31 percent of the schedule this season. We discuss the move on this edition of the SprintCarUnlimited 90 at 9.”

Ive been wondering how happy these gius are sitting in their trailers watching it rain. I think this is a good idea. Kind of a good will gesture that gets a monkey part way off their back. Interesting that there are also no HL shows during these dates.  Whcih nakes me ask why neither groups has events over the July 4th weekend? Any reasons?

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

At first glance, YEAH  woo is working for the betterment of the sport/drivers etc Smile

Guessing most  teams/drivers have already made plans to spend with their family or a mini vacation.  Kinda too late to announce on July 1.  Are than any races these teams want to even race?

Makes WOO look reasonable and fair at first, but is it really.  Lifting restrictions on July 1 for races July 1st through July 8 and no HL races.

What high paying races are there that are reasonalbe expectation that teams would want to race.

If there are no desirable races, WOO IS KINDA A JOKE, if there is, thank you WOO for allowing your drivers to make a living.

The why...WRG CEO Brian Carter in a interview during the offseason, said the drivers and teams have been lobbying the Outlaws for a weekend off during the season.  So the Outlaws decided to take this weekend off, with the stipulation that they don't go off and run other races, and it's a true 'weekend off'.  Because if the teams still go and run races that weekend, the Outlaws in the future would just no longer do this, and schedule races that weekend instead.

But with all the rain-outs, it makes sense to allow the teams to run this week if they can, or want to.

On why High Limit also are off this same week, I have no idea.  Maybe, and this is just me guessing, they wanted to honor this 'weekend off', because some of thier drivers were actually the ones who requested it.

PA speedweek races pay pretty decent.  I'd expect to see some out there.  Maybe Knoxville and Husets.  Powri 410s at Lake Ozark Fri and Sat.  That's about it really.

Obviously just a coincidence that it's for 8 days that there are no High Limits races. Not fooling anybody Carter!

Glad to see Schchart take advantage and guessing many more for Knoxville

Contrary to my skeptism, WOO made a great decision for it's teams and drivers.

I was looking at schedules a few weeks ago and I thought this could be a real nice Saturday (July 6th) to make a quick trip down from Brandon, SD to Knoxville IA.  Thinking (guessing) 410 car count could see a spike.

You do not know when the drivers were told.  The rain out on Friday probably pushed this forward.

The WoO drivers are free to race when they want and where they want.  The 12 regulars decided to take some guaranteed money and signed a contract.  The WoO champ is looking at $100,000 bonus on top of prize fund.  They also have tow money guaranteed.  I am not sure how that works if there is a rainout.

The HL guys said they wanted to race less.  So far, they have raced more than the WoO guys.  They have won more total dollars, but their average winnings per event is about the same as the top 3 WoO.

i don't think we can say how this will play out until the season is over.

Or the HL can race more if they choose. It is still long season and alot of money to be won. I think where this is really going to play out is for the guys in the back of the point standings. Example, Jacob Allen, he has won between $35k and $40k running outside of HL so far. Lets not forget, these drivers have also been allowed to set up the souvenir trailers at many of these other events.

There is other racing this weekend besides the two traveling circuses.  I watch Knoxville and Husets weekly with some IRA and USAC mixed in so it's "business as usual".

Do you? If not, it seems like you're just being confrontational and engaging in name-calling.

It seems to me that both the WoO and H-L are doing just fine.

I am diabetic, I do not drink kool aid. Seriously, too much sugar.

I doubt you know any more about the inner workings than I do.  Just seems like all of your comments are anti WoO, not pro Sprint Car racing.

so far, only 1 outlaw has raced in this time frame.  As best as I can tell, no HL regulars.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but to be fair, it looks like one HL regular has raced- Jacob Allen. The fact that Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen are both from PA and are racing PA Speedweeks races and sleeping in their own beds at night is probably more than a coincidence.
