Well, if you can't take a side and get your panties all wadded up over something that you have no conTroll (sp) over I'm not sure your posts are welcome here. And you call yourself a race fan..........................................................................lol.

I'll leave the taking sides to the know-it-alls on this board!

Ignoring the other side seems kind of silly in the modern age.  In the days when we all got our news from Speed Sport or some other weekly or monthly publication, it was a little easier.  Don't think anyone expects WoO to do cartwheels but to mention that Brad Sweet has won x # of features on the HL series isn't gonna hurt anything.  They could acknowledge without promoting IMO.

I would suspect their restrictions on how many other nights their guys can run will be coming to an end soon or HL will continue to grow.  Late models have made 2 series work for 20 years now with no driver limits from either side.  They even kind of cooperate on scheduling to leave Eldora big weekends open as well as some of the big events on both sides are left open by the opposite side.

Last night's IRA race and the Skagit race with both entertaining.  The campground flooded at Husets last night and they had first responders rescuing stranded campers.  Postponed the rest of the weekend until they determine a date.  Meanwhile a two day show that I can't find listed anywere starts tonight up in Grand Forks.  I would expect with the better weather up north that Dobmeier and all the rest of the NOSA drivers will head north today.  If they can get there as I heard there are some freeway closures.

There were 50+ cars racing with IRA in Indiana, 50 or so out west at Skagit, 50 scrambling to get out of the Husets deluge and probably at least 30 up in GF with more to join them.  If I was chasing races and stranded at Husets I'd head north to River Cities.

When you start adding up the numbers of 410s active in the sport right now it's pretty impressive.

Put away your pom poms and stop cheerleading nobody cares.

I had and have tickets for both series this year.  I do however think it is a great injustice to the racing world that th woo can't even mention the HL.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

LOL... WoO drivers winning a HIGHER percentage of the WoO races this year than WoO drivers did last year is not good news for the outlaws??  lol  Lol  LOL LOL   ok, thanks again.

Who cares.  When the HL guys are there what is there win percentage?  And there podium finishes?

Isn't that great news for the HL drivers. If and that is a big if the outlaws are the best they should not be beat ever.

A great injustice to the racing world??? It's a business they  don't have to anything about the competition except try to be better What  exactly is your deal? Do you feel the need for validation? The sport is thriving no need to pick sides just let it go.

No, the outlaws should when announcing drivers say they are from the HL.  It is not that hard.  Just like Chase does when an outlaw driver is at a HL race.  By not doing so it shows there lack to really want to grow the sport.  HL definitely wants to grow the sport it is time for the Woo to do the same!

They don't have to do anything. The Woo grew this sport to what is today why do you think they owe anybody anything? They are both thriving quit pissing about petty things.

Classic know it all example:

- knows all about track prep

- knows all about what should be announced

- knows when to use "there" and "their"

Does not know, better to keep quiet and thought a fool.......you know the rest!

I rest my case!!

And you're one of probably three people on this board who care about that.   The rest of us don't give a rat's ass...

Wow ! I just ran across that High Limit post on X/Twitter and thought it was kinda cool HL did that. I shoulda know it woulda started a pissing war on here between the HL detractors and the WOO detractors.

I don't think the Outlaws owe HL a damn thing. I do hope to see them both thrive and have a good rivalry. In the futire I hope the Outlaw regulars will be able to run more than 4 non outlaw races, I think that's about the best anyone can hope for.

I am not going to argue either way because just care. It is another sport but the Super Bowl winner in usually considered the best but only one time have they not been beat at some time during the season. Same goes for most other sports.

I think both sanctions desire to grow their brand. They are both businesses.  Growing the sport and growing your brand are vastly different. However both will grow the sport only as much as necessay to achieve their first priority. They both support local grass roots racing becuase they need a feeder system for both drivers and fans. Neither group is putting money or effort into Estevan motor Speedway because that small race track doesnt feed their brand. Racing could grow in Estevan if either sanction was dediciated to seeing it grow. But they arent. They do put effort and money into California and PA cause those tracks do feed their brand.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Regardless of any competitive measure regarding the series or drivers, the Outlaws clearly have a massive advantage in brand recognition. Simply watching the streams and looking at the crowds will tell you that, regardless of quality of cars, drivers or racing.

Like it or not, the Outlaws are clearly perceived to be the gold standard.

It makes perfect sense for High Limit to try to attach itself to the Outlaws for any reason possible to grow High Limit's brand within the existing and future fan base.

At the same time, it makes perfect sense for the Outlaws to act as if High Limit doesn't exist. In every business I've everbeen in, it has been status quo to ignore competition -even speaking down on it legitimizes said competition.

Not really hard concepts to understand. I still think more time is needed to understand if HL existing has bettered the sport overall, but I personally feel early indications are that it has.

This has been kind of my point. HL is going to have to earn their stripes. 20 plus years ago same thing. WoO Latemodel "Dirty Dozen" best lm drivers there are. Lucas oil series started and  gave people more good racing to go to. It kept growing and growing and growing. The WoO don't even ignore them now and will give them credit. However, the social media network didn't really exist back then. Things tend to travel and change faster. The outlaws are the gold standard. How long can they maintain that when HL drivers are consitently beating them. Plus HL is promoting their drivers when they go elsewhere and win. Look at their twitter page. Zeb Wise and Jacob Allen are plastered all over it for their wins the last 2 nights. They are mentioning HL in their victory interviews.  New fans are coming in everyday. Are they going be sold on the gold standard or what have you done (or have I seen) lately. I love the WoO (both series), Lucas Oil and I am going to embrace and support HL all the way. To me this has the feel of history repeating itself from 20 years ago with the latemodels. If at the very least, there is starting to be more proof and less doubt the need for 2 national sprint tours.

Let's cut the crap - High Limit is clearly latching on to WoO for relevance.

Go check Walkapedia's Twitter for supporting evidence - I absolutely loved the guy as a genuine reporter prior to getting hired with HL, but suggesting Husets reschedules an Outlaw sanctioned event to benefit those who are following the High Limit schedule is not a fantastic look.

I tend to agree with this.

And this is how I slot the top 4 greatest injustices of the racing world:

1.) The Bettenhausen family's starcrossed and tragedy filled quest for victory at Indianapolis.

2.) The WoO not mentioning the High Limit series

3.) Ford Mo.Co. staging a 1-2-3 finish while costing Ken Miles the victory at LeMans in 1966

4.) Eldora exclusively going to Coke products in 2005

Hilarious!    Can you add Knoxville going to exclusively Coke products a few years ago?   I've never seen a greater injustice than that myself...

I can't wait until the world racing group calls me next year to try to sell me the same tickets I bought this year for the Woo.  I am going to tell them what I think of how Gibson has totally blew it for me to purchase those tickets this year.  After this year, I am definitely going to cut down on my woo tickets for the next few years.  Not pissing just telling the truth.  They need to start promoting the sport instead of being stupid!

You realize he's just the announcer-right? You're not dumb enough to believe that he's the one making any decisions about how the WoO is run-right? I mean, you can't really be that ignorant-right?
