I didn't think you all did but here I am anyways.

All I can say is "WOW." I am sure alot of you have been in this state alot longer than "I" but having lived here since 1969 (living on this street all but one year of that time too), I have NEVER seen anything like what we have going on here in Okiehoma. Maybe there was a time in the 70's or early 80's but I don't recall a destruction like what we have here.

We still have a huge tree on our power line which doesn't enable us to use the washer and dryer as we are still getting power surges but we do have power. My brother, one year removed from his tumor removal from his brain, still has no power for him and his family so his oxygen bottle and himself stay with my parents down the street. My brother finally is able to eat without mashed food and just when we think things will start to get back to normal then he is still struggling with no power. In the year and a half he has only been able to be at his house for maybe one month. Rest of the time he had siezors on in the hospital.

My cable has been another story. I can't not go back to to pre-1982 when there was no cable or internet. I tried but dayum it has been hard. I think I watched four hours worth of racing tapes since Monday and while I enjoyed watching some 1982 WoO races and 1981 USAC sprint dirt races, I needed my cable tv and my ESPN. I don't watch movies so renting was out. I don't do tv shows. I only do old John Wayne and Westerns if I do movies. I am 100% sports all the time.

Somebody mentioned down below about thanking OG&E and others and I HIGHLY agree. The contractors for Cox came today to hook this baby and the cable up and I gave them both vitamen water and thanked them. I plan on giving the electrical people from Houston, who are helping in the MWC area, each either bottled water or gatoraide when they are around my street as a little "thank you" from me to them. One of the Mexicans who works for them told me they were going to Kansas City when they are done here and probably won't be home for Christmas. If you see electrical people in your area, get them something to drink or fix them some hot chocolate or something. If you can, fix ham and cheese sandwiches as I am sure they will appreciate it.

I also want to thank Uncle A for his help in coming over and giving his advice on our electrical stuff. Now if the electrical people can come take this big tree off the line I can get out there and do alot of cutting.

I hope all of you "tidbiters" are safe and doing fine. If anybody can be of assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know on here.

Now, instead of going to Hooters to watch my Cowboys later, I can sit here in the comfort of my own home.

Dave, I know what you mean. We lost cable Monday morning but still had power. So it was the old antenna tv thing. Then at six Wednesday morning the power goes out. Just got it back around three Sunday afternoon. Funny thing is, it had nothing to do with the ice storm. A transformer in a junction box nearby blew, screwing up our circuit. The OG&E guys said that it was just dumb luck that it happened this week. Any other time, our power would have been restored within a few hours.

Making our plans to attend the Copper on Dirt at Manzy in February. Can't hardly wait.

I had to study for all my finals with no power. Good thing I'm just so smart I retain information like a STEEL TRAP (with no holes, I know someone will try to pull that one on me).

glad many more have their power back. we lost if for almost 3 days here and had to stay at a hotel. crazy crazy storm. b/c of this damn storm I'll attending a funeral wednesday morning for my uncle who slipped and fell last monday. when I heard of his accident the importance of my power loss went from a lot - to very little. A harsh reminder to how severe and dangerous the weather can be.

This happened here several years ago and it was two weeks before a Kansas contractor came in and fixed my power. No electricity, just a wall heater and a cell phone. So I did what any normal person would do, I ordered a computer for that WoO game! $1,000 computer for a $20 game!
