I have a question about the treehouse above turn 2. I assume this structure belongs to the farm property behind turn 2 and these folks are watching for free? If so how does the track feel about that? wink

That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen

I was at Viking Speedway one night and some people were watching the races from a store that was up a hill and about a block off turns 3-4.

A tire and wheel flew off a car entering turn three and flew up the hill and nailed the people's windshield that were watching.

...In this case, free doesn't always mean free, I'm sure someone ended up paying for that windshield. LOL

Liability wise, maybe not great.

Good neighbor wise? I'd rather have people that want to watch my races than shut me down for too much noise/dirt/dust.

It's definitely one of the coolest vantage points I've ever seen!

Love the treehouse! Butler is an awesome old school kind of track. Kind of reminds me of what sprint car racing was like back in then 80's. Great race last night!

I heard stories that the people who lived on the street off the backstretch at Port Royal used to sit on their porch roofs and watch the races for free. Then the track started giving them free season passes, not sure if they still do that.

Never been to Butler but the "penthouses" at Columbus, MS Speedway are a real hoot.

Big Amish community in the area...the ultimate in disparate worlds is noticing an Amish family stopped on the road where they have a clear view of the track between turn 1 and 2...Id love a picture with sprint cars as the focus and an Amish buggy in the background...and yes, it was a fantastic feature last night!

Good way to keep the majority of your neighbours ok with late night noise. Keep them away from home till the noise is over.  Smart tactic imo. Many benefits for both sides " of the fence"

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

One thing I learned about centrifugal force while taking photos from the infield.  All the tires and junk usually flies off the outside of the track.  The treehouse is kind of cool and I'd image they can get some awesome shots.  Aside from that I probably would keep one eye open for lost wheels as that is the most likely thing they'll encounter.
