Make sure that the track has an adequate wrecker at the track.

Those home made wreckers are ok for dragging cars off the track but

can't handle lifting anything . The racing last night was delayed due to the lack of a real wrecker.

They did their best...but you can do better

They do seem to go to a lot of tracks that are not equiped to handle big time racing. That race is not the first where I think they added to the danage to cars getting them off the track.

You make a valid point, but if they don't care anything about spectator safety and adequate crash fencing then wreckers won't be high on their priority list either.

I am going to push back about not caring about the safety of fans and drivers. Tricity speedway in Granite City, IL used to be a top notch facility. They used to run weekly races until last year when they have just concentrated on specials only. I don't know if this has had any bearing on no tow truck ther or what (I was at the race and made the comment about lack of tow truck before the races started.)  Remember in 2023 both the World of Outlaws and Highlimit were there and put on good shows. Everyone wants to bash HL for Riverside, but everyone forgets the Outlaws had no issues scheduling a 2 day show this October there.

When I said "they" I meant sanctioning bodies in general and wasn't talking just about HL and should have specified that.   You are correct, WoO is going in to race at the Ditch later this year.   USCS and ASCS have raced there quite a bit too.

Yeah but only one of those groups is out there peddling itself as the new messiah to sprint car racing that will raise the stakes and "elevate the sport." Brad was on the so called safety committee or whatever the hell it was after Jason and Greg were killed. Not to mention he was always the first one to bitch about racing after rain when the track was wet and everything else under the sun when he was a platinum member. Seems like the standard changed now that it's his own deal. Which is understandable. It's a tough business and it's a constant struggle to balance cost, safety, scheduling, fan interaction, procedures to keep the show moving while balancing the need to allow time for merchandise and concession sales, money for the teams while remaining affordable for fans, streaming vs. asses in the seats, weather and cancelation decisions and so many other factors. As it turns out, the WoO have done a damn good job of this over the years. Maybe now he'll respect their efforts a little more now that he's not just showing up with a helmet bag and racing for a multi million dollar team. It's almost inevitable that there will be some facilities on the schedule with some issues. Otherwise, they'd just race at Knoxville and Eldora all the time.

At least two wreckers at Kokomo tonight and they needed them as Larson, who admitted that he sucks, takes out Cale Thomas.

My question is who will bail out on the HL first. Sponsors or teams? I dont think it is healrhy to have the series owner winning regularly , i understand it is an " anyone can enter" deal but there is still a possible perception of self gain which I think grows with every win. Sponsors may start to feel they are funding a series on behalf of a person instead of on behalf of rhe sport. I just have a bad feeling this only ends well for a couple people short term.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Just so you and all the other people understand this or have forgotten, I will clarify this for you. Yes Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet own the series. THEY DO NOT OWN THEIR CARS THEY DRIVE. They actually drive for someone else. This means their car owner can decide where and when they actually race should they so choose.

Brad Sweet drives for Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson drives for Paul Silva (unless he keeps tearing Sh*t up lol)

Fixxxer,

The so called safety committee you keep mentioning was actually called the “Sprint Car Council”.   Brad Sweet was never on the council.     However, his KKR teammate Daryn Pittman actually was a member.

For the 2024 season, the WoO finally have a Traveling Safety Crew.   Some folks feel that this has something to do with HL also having a Traveling Safety Crew and this is an example of Brad & Kyle elevating the sport in the area of safety.      It is hard to argue with that since it took WoO 46 years to get one.

Some people just find anything to complain about these days. I wonder if race "fans" actually enjoy anything involved in the sport anymore. Because whenever a race takes place it seems more people are complaining about what happened vs looking at the good things. So far from what I have seen both The Outlaws and High Limit have put on great races. But instead people seem to complain about who should and should not race, where they should race, why isn't this person racing, why did that person do something, why can't this streaming service show a competing series, blah blah blah. I think a majority of people on here would figure out something to complain about if they had an all expense paid vacation to whereever they would like.

I think the "us vs them" fake rivalry BS tends to do 2 things: 1) it encourages people to take sides and 2) it grates on the people who just want to see good racing and don't care about the politics side.

I think this is the main reason this hasn't been as fun as it otherwise would be.

Yea but, Larson sure as hell did not look like just another driver when he stopped and made a race director decision last year.

How in the world does the Mecca, the Holy Grail of Indiana non-wang sprint car lore with rooster tails o-plenty, end up with rubber down 3/4 thru the feature just when things were just about to get good? How does this happen?

I was there. Kyle has mentioned several times it was a mistake. He owned it.

AMEN. I thought by me joining this site as a huge latemodel fan that got to experience and enjoy the growth of 2 national touring latemodel series I could bring a positive spin to sprint car fans (I enjoy sprint car racing too). It was time for 2 national tours. I think by now everyone should be able to acknowledge that.  But it seems like some people are little hard headed and want to knit pick every little thing. This did happen in the beginning with Lucas and WoO as well. I can remember WoO could or wouldn't even acknowledge the Lucas Oil champion. Now both co-exist great together. I really liked how HL applauded Buddy Kofoid for being there last night and acknowledge drivers accomplishments with WoO series. They also tout their own drivers when they are racing elsewhere. When WoO realize HL is not going anywhere, they will return the love.

Make sure that the track has an adequate wrecker at the track.

Those home made wreckers are ok for dragging cars off the track but

can't handle lifting anything . The racing last night was delayed due to the lack of a real wrecker.

They did their best...but you can do better

"rigged", "do better", "don't care about safety", "gimmicks", "amatuer announcing", "owners shouldn't race in their own series".....and those are the ones I can remember just off the top of my head from the butthurt "fans" that hate the High Limit series - but somehow still watch every race. I picture them sitting at home with a notepad and pen writing down the multitude of "horrible" things HL does and tries with their series, then imediately going here or on social media to bitch and complain.

This far into their innagural season, it's obvious to anyone with any sort of open mind and common sense that HL is working and that 2 touring 410 series can work. At this point the whining and complaining about every little thing they do and try has really gotten old. Get over it and realize that HL isn't going anywhere and that there are a lot fans who really like what they are doing.
