To speculate a bit, I doubt it, as they've got Lakeside for 50K on Friday/Saturday. Jacksonville is rough on equipment, at least from my POV. I doubt they're going to drive place the place they've got to be for Friday/Saturday to go race mid-week with a competing series, but I may be wrong.

I hadn't seen anything about high limit postponing or canceling their show at 81 speedway till I got home tonight was going to tune it in you have to wonder why they canceled it The weather excuse just doesn't cut it they haven't had hardly any rain in Wichita all month you can look that up on the National Weather Service there was no rain or thunderstorms predicted for today you can look at the weather models and see that was it that the promoter was worried that he was going to lose money like 90% of the promoters have this year on high limit shows just curious because the weather deal is a bunch of BS it's a lie

Well tonight is in the indication on what high limit is going to do they should cancel lakeside shows on Thursday there's been a lot of rain through that area and there's a chance for severe thunderstorms and a lot of rain on Saturday they use that excuse for tonight and all you have to do is look things up and you can see it's a lie but if they used it tonight and they're worried about severe thunderstorms then they should cancel Saturday too I think it's more along the lines that the promoters of these tracks are getting worried about the people in the stands and not making any money and probably losing a hell of a lot

No significant chance of rain until 4 am. They obviously should have raced. If this is the way they are going to do business, they may as well pull the plug on the series now.

Surprised Jacob Allen didn't travel oover. He's been running alot of Outlaw races when he can this year

Your exact point happened at Knoxville this past Saturday.
They cancelled the Saturday show well in advance, citing forecasted weather issues later in the day (that hadn't yet happened).
Later that day, NOAA reported Knoxville received .55" precip at 5:50pm and .50" at 6:50pm.
It saved everyone a huge mess in this case. But weather will probably never be an exact science.
But what all of this really is about is smart business:
I can remember being one of the 37 (or so) people that bought a ticket to the Sunday April 29 1990 WoO race at Knoxville when the Fri/Sat show was delayed to Sat/Sun due to weather on Friday.
That Sunday afternoon, the wind was out of the NW at 20-30+mph the whole time and intermittent sleet with temps in the 30's. It was so windy, my friend Patty couldn't even keep a cigarette lit when we had our sleeping bags pulled over our head for her to light it.
And I am pretty sure that was the final straw for the track ever thinking about rescheduling a future, big paying WoO-type race when confronted with that kind of forecast...as it was a guaranteed financial disaster.
That's not my most vivid memory of the event though. It was Doug Wolfgang absolutely destroying the field - and he wasn't even locked into the top 4 from the night before.

Some here say the WoO business model is flawed because they do not let their contracted drivers race anywhere and further that the HL is a better model because the drivers have more options. Well looking at the May 1st WoO race, 56 cars, Top names from both series, a few nascar and late model drivers.. The best of the best show up for a mid weeks show. It cost the WoO nothing to have the HL stars appear. I suspect the promoter is beyond happy and myself personally would have been thrilled to watch heats qualifiers and 4 mains opposed to 3 heats and an A main. If i was a pronoter, depending on contract details, i would seek the WoO for what they can guarantee with the hope if this massive iver delivery than the HL who can guarantee a package with much kess opportunity to iver deliver.
Someone said the drivers from the HL might not show up to support a competing series. I doubt very much drivers care what banner they are flying under on any given night. The drivers are not competing against series, they compete against other race cars regardless of the banner at the main gate.
So from a business pov it seems the WoO has the best rules to succeed , be desired and over deliver.

That is the point of th HL series. They can run where they want when they are off or take off if they choose. This will benefit the WoO as long as they can beat the HL guys at their shows. If the HL guys start winning WoO races, in the long run this may not be a good look for WoO. The fans win either way.
