Just saw a post from Bill that they are 'chasing' the Outlaw chamionship. It does not say if he signed up. Good news for Bill and the team.

Off the tour before July. Outside familiar tracks and a few watered down All-Star events he won last year, he could hardly get top 10's while a tour regular. I wish him luck, but too old and too conservative (probably for budget reasons) to run compettitively with that length and intensityof a schedule. IRA born Bill's have longstanding relationship with B-mains and transfers.

Yeah he was going to run the Mid week HL last year. After 3 races he was like 25th in points and Quit.

Bill Balog while running with the All Stars full time, 2021, 5th in points, 11 top 5, 20 top 10. 2022, 6th in points, 9 top 5, 23 top 10. It seems to me that he was a little better than what you remember. If they could figure out the mechanical issues, (bigger problem than being conservative) it is obvious that he would have done better. I give him credit and wish Bill and the team nothing but the best. I will see him in Wisco 4 times with the Outlaws.

I'm pretty excited to see Bill run with the Outlaws. I could see him finishing 7th-8th in points but it's a long year so time will tell. However, still very exciting to see the 10 time IRA champion face off with some of the very best.

Agreed, a little better, but with 50-60 shows, those top 10 stats arent great when there were what... 10-12 travelers with the series and the rest were regional and local drop-ins? The one thing he does have going for him is the WOO will be noticebly weaker moving forward... so podiums and top-5's will more attainable than ever.

Wow, Hoseheads is in fine form today. Bill Balog is a 10-time champion of one of the better regional 410 series. He has a WOO victory on his resume. He also has victories from the NSL when it was arrived. However, when announced he was joining the Outlaws, his resume was thoroughly discredited and he is completely thrown under the bus as a driver.
On the other hand, when High Limit announces drivers with similar or lesser resumes, we are told about the greatness of High Limit. We will ignore the fact that some have never won in a winged car. Some have never won on a national level. Some have had different car owners every year for the last x years. I guess I need some of that High Limit Kool-aide.

Glad to see him on tour! Should be a good fit for him! I think he made a wise choice!

Well said. Balog has by far a better resume than some of the "High Rollers". A really awesome guy too. I hope he has some fun and some success. I'm sure this is a dream come true for him.

He's got a handful of podiums with the WoO already (besides the 1 victory) and set fast time multiple nights last year (including a track record), he's got a 4th place in the King's Royal, multiple All-Star victories, NSL victories, and over 130 total A-main wins in a 410 car. He's more than qualified to be a WoO regular. I've been hoping he'd make this leap for a number of years. Best of luck 17B, hammer down!

I watched Bill come from deep in the field on a black slick race track, one of the only guys able to hold it on the bottom coming off the corner and win an All Star race. I can't remeber the track but I been a fan ever since. Guy had some serious car control...
The older I get the faster I was

Where are they racing $40,000 cars, or even $60,000 cars?

I am a big fan of Bill Balog. He seems to do best on the tracks the IRA has run which makes sense for the 10 time champion. I think his WoO win was at Wilmont in 2016. I know it was 2016. There are a couple IRA 410 racers that could do well in a slightly diluted WoO field. I think Crouch would be better off in WoO next year. Time will tell.

Better regional series?? The IRA is terrible from a competition standpoint. He had a national funded caliber of equipment against a bunch people who had day jobs and were on a shoestring budget.

Bill Balog was a nice addition to the outlaws. They needed that. I just top to bottom the High Limit series drivers top to bottom just have notable resumes. Even their young drivers Crouch and Day. The HL just added Brent Marks too.

So why are you so upset with him taking a step up to run the WoO where the tables will be flipped completely. He will likely be one of the least funded teams on the WoO tour and I'd guess will finish points better than a handful of them. I don't get the Balog hate or the IRA hate for that matter.
