NAMAR (National Alliance of Midget Auto Racing)
Formed in 1972 for the improvement and bettering of midget auto racing in the USA.
Started off with 10 sanctioning bodies:-
AMRA – American Midget Racing Association
ARC – Atlantic Racing Club
BMRA – Badger Midget Racing Association
BARA – Buckeye Auto Racing Association
CORA – Car Owners Racing Association
NEMA – Northeastern Midget Association
NWMARA – Northwest Midget Auto Racing Association
SLARA – St. Louis Auto Racing Association
UARA – United Auto Racing Association
URA – United Racing Association
I have a copy of the inaugural NAMAR Yearbook (1973) that lists Duke DeRosa as the 1972 NAMAR Champion – after a series of four race meetings between the 10 clubs.
Sadly many of the clubs are no longer operating.
I would like to get a full list of the NAMAR Champions – several internet sites contain lists of USA Midget Champions, but I have yet to find one with the NAMAR winners.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
