Now that track is the way Port Royal should be every week!!  Fast from start of the event until the end.  No 19-20 second lap times last night.  Everyone want to complain about little Freddie but DD may as well stayed at home.  Well at least for him, he wont have to worry about qualified being a guarenteed starter.  I hope the track is just as fast for the next 2 nights.

Can't believe Marks threw $62,000 away like that.  Although Stutts does get in drivers way most of the time, LOL.

i figured there would be a race to the brian brown thread to talk about how poorly it aged.  great move drive for him all night long.  gave the 9 exactly enough room with the slider coming out of turn 2...and i mean exactly which is what made it so brilliant.  i was counting the win for larson when he got to second and brown made no mistakes to open the door.

really feel bad for rico.  he's won the chili bowl so nobody an say he hasn't won a big won.  he's deserving of a big wing race though.  any idea what broke on the car?  he made basically the same move brown and others made.  never a good time to break but that was particularly cruel.

the fall of the posse couldn't have been more evident.  outside of marks who had bad luck...macri, wagner, and dewease (dewease in particular) were nowhere to be found.  we'll see how those rides shift around in the offseason and hopefully the teams can regroup.

While the Posse struggled, there's more to it than guys not being good enough or what not. The reality is, and it was said from the get go, a lot of guys who typically run well there were way out to lunch as a result of the track prep. There was no boards to bang and a pretty thick cushion all around the track.

Everybody with regular laps came into the event looking to run a certain way and frankly, it wasn't there. The guys who capitalized were mostly guys with limited laps and "no bad habits" to be held to. Even guys like Borden, who have dominated all season, struggled to really get going as their notebook and team is built to run a different way that the track wouldn't allow last night.

The speed was there track wise, but ultimately it just never widened out enough to really create a true "top groove". And really to capitalize, you needed mistakes from others or restarts to make moves. Ulitmately it created a lot of drama as in many cases, it was ones race not to lose and less someone's to win. Randall's inexperience gave Brownie just enough of any opportunity to take the win. You canlt open that door when the middle was a s choppy as it was.

I think that's also why Marks did his stupid dive bomb move on Stutts. With the top as choppy as it was and Rnadall closing in lappers, I think he just felt he needed to put a car in front of him and wans;t ultimately comfortable running in the marbles.

I saw the highlights.  The track was plenty wide enough for  the feature.   I love the cushion for a change.  A little off the wall puts everyone on equal ground. The bottom was actually there for a change.   Marks would have been tough -  so would have Rico and Buddy.   Congrats Black Jack.

Yes how about Lance not even coming closer to making on the show.  Started on the front row of his heat and immediately went backwards.  Track was probably way to fast for his liking!!  Throughly enjoyed that!

I think had the track been like it usually is week in and week out you'd have seen Posse do better. When they don't have the track setup advantage they tend not to do as well. It was cool to see the Midwest guys do well, they get beat up because they don't have the home track advantage the Posse do but it was cool to see them dominate the feature for the most part.

i'm wanting to call it another sign of weakness that the pa guys couldn't adjust.  good teams should be able to do that...like marks before he ran into trouble.

who was complaining about allowing more outside invaders/outlaws into the race?  i saw port's twitter post and it was discussed on dirttrackr daily yesterday.  port shouldn't have given that the time of day.  that might have been the best field of any race this season and i have trouble seeing how that's a bad thing.

What was up with the patch work on the #57 car? It looked like they were taping a big diaper on the top wing.

The thing is that with the field of cars there this weekend the guys who were up front last night might not make the feature tonight and some the other way around.

They used a clipboard to cover a hole that developed in the side board. Attached it with white tape.

I wish they could come up with a way to stop the race for fuel and still allow drivers who made a pass to keep their spot.

Donny Schatz timed 44th I believe and didn't start the C Main. Any info on that?

I would like to know what happened to Rico.

passing wasn't a problem. Many who strayed deep finished well.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

It was not an Outlaw race, and Schatz knew he did not have a provisional, and had NO Shot coming out of the C to make the feature. He was saving his equipment for tonight and tomorrow. It was the same reason that 9 of the scheduled 24 starters skipped the Non qualifiers race even though the winner was guaranteed a starting spot in next year's Tuscoura 50. Even though he won, DD was not a happy camper with the lateness and track conditions of the Non qualifers race.

You say passing wasn't a problem.  Did you actually watch the race or just look at the results?

You people need to stop all of this dishonesty and lying.   Brian Brown did not win last night at Port Royal.   He couldn't have, because he can only win at Knoxville.   He sure isn't good enough to win in PA, so you guys just stop it!

It was a solid night of racing. Racy track, plenty of grip, entertaining. I, of course, wanted to see a PA guy take home the cash, but congrats to Brown. He put himself in position to take advantage of other's misfortunes and put a "to the absolute clean limit" slider on Randall when it got down to nut-cutting time.

I thought the program dragged a little, but I took a friend who had never been to a race before, so I had plenty to questions to answer (format, drivers, track conditions, car questions) in the down time. So... from my perspective it didnt drag that much. However, I got in my truck after the race, saw the time, and was like "Shiiiit... it's late."

All in all, it was a perfectly adequate 50 with some weird wrenches (broken cars, leader wrecking) thrown in to spice it up.

7/10
