Another teriffic race last night for the 410's at BAPS, even without a few of the big dogs in Macri and Marks who are on the road in the Midwest. The track was very racey with two groves and minimum dust. A great battle between Kyle Reinhardt and Jeff Halligan throughout the race, trading the lead back and forth, with Reinhardt winning. In my humble opinion, BAPS is the hidden gem in Central Pa. It is a shame more teams and fans do not support the track as the 410's usually put on a great show.Last night's crowd was decent, but the place should be packed every time the 410's race there. Owner Scott Gobrecht has taken an old beat up facility, and turned it into a real nice track. Can't wait to see the Pa Speedweek race and the World of Outlaws later this season.

Not sure what the entire 410 purses are but $25 admission seems a bit high. That, racing on Thursday nights, and the fact that they are over-saturating the market by adding more and more races is probably why the crowd isn't great. What are they gonna charge for the WOO? $50?

For what it is worth, Bridgeport charged $35 last week for the All Stars (Good thing you do not live in New Jersey) BAPS is the only track in Central Pa, that runs 410's, that has a Senior price, so it was well worth the $20 it cost me last night. I am probably the exception, but I have NO PROBLEM paying a few extra bucks to see a good race, especially if I know the track is putting money back into the facility for capital improvements, which obviously is the case with BAPS.
