does anybody know what tyler courtney's long term plans are?  he seemed to be moving upwards pretty fast after winning usac titles and then the all star title last year.  if anybody was in a position to move on to something like nascar...he might be it...but he's signed on to run the all star schedule again this year.  i'm not sure how much of a challenge that's going to be especially since they're not running in pa very much.

hate to see a talented, successful, and good guy from the few interactions we've had with him top out somewhere.  i thought he might at least sign on with the outlaws unless he likes having more flexibility where he races.  he hasn't come off as a big time traveler though like others on the all star tour like peck who shows up in pa all the time.

i've been thinking another way larson could support dirt drivers...aside from pushing for higher purses in certain races...would be to somehow create opportunities in nascar or indycar.  he has enough on his plate so i'm not necessarily asking him to start his own team although maybe that's in his future.  i've been following dirt racing long enough that i'd like to see somebody make a jump from usac, woo, or all stars and into nascar or indycar.

if the ultimate goal is to be at the top of dirt racing...awesome...but somebody out there must have thoughts of racing at other levels like larson has.  i held off on saying "higher levels" because i don't think nascar or indy car is better or higher level racing.  it does pay more though.

I would agree he is talented. Outside of what the Marshall's post I don't really see too much of his private life. I think a few people thought that NOS team would jump to the WOO this year and field (2) NOS teams on the WOO tour. However I don't know what factors go into having two cars in one series vs one car in (2) seprate series.
With his success in USAC I would have guessed the asphalt route would have already happened, but again there are sooo many factors that go into that even remotely happening.

For selfish reasons, I hope I get to see him in a sprint car for as long as possible, winged or non wing.

Go buy some NOS b/c the amount of drivers they support and obviously are the title sponsor for the WOO.

I've gotta wonder a couple of things here, especially with regard to NASCAR.   I thought Gio was headed that direction, but apparently he's not.   Apparently Sunshine isn't either.    Could it be that NASCAR doesn't look as attractive any longer?   They are "evolving" NASCAR into sports car racing basically.   It's certainly not what it was even five years ago.   Or is it an opportunity thing where Gio and Sunsine are not as pretty as Hailee even though she'll be another Danica?

Why would any dirt track fan want him to go to NASCAR?????

I know the folks in Hoosierland want to get American dirt track drivers back at the Indy 500, but NASCAR????

Dirt fans no way. The drivers of course.   Stenhouse and Dave Blaney have over 20 times the net worth of Steve kinser and Donny schatz so I understand why Bell, Briscoe, Larson, Bowman, etc.... will cash those checks as long as they can and Scelzi,Courtney, timms, day, kofoid, gravel, Bryson etc will go the NASCAR route if the opportunity arises.

The amount of money a driver has to bring to the table now is insane in NASCAR. It makes more sense to keep racing what you're doing while prospecting for leads than going some minor league stock car stuff. Lets face it. NASCAR is pretty young right now and there isn't exactly a bunch of open seats to be had with the way the franchises are done with teams.

I do too.   I am glad when they can race dirt some and grateful for the ones who made it  to NASCAR and still give back to dirt racing by fielding cars for others too.

all i really care about is if these guys are living the lives they want to live and have no complaints about their careers.  definitely nothing wrong with what they're doing right now.  if they're dreaming of other things...i hope they get there because they deserve it.  i'm always confused where the pipeline is for young nascar drivers.  follow the money like everything else i guess.

I definitely think NASCAR evolving into sportscar racing could be a part of it, but Gio didn't do anything very impressive when he was in ARCA in 2020.

i think it's a mistake to not look at dirt racers.  the top drivers at hendrick (larson), gibbs (bell), and shr (briscoe for much of the season) all have dirt backgrounds.  all of them adapt well to road courses.

indy really needs to add names people can identify with.  i look at a running order and have no idea who anybody is.

Stenhouse yes, Blaney? Debatable. Also Schatz is loaded from the family business and Kinser while not being as loaded as some in Nascar, has to be a millionaire.

If you think Nascar requires money to get rides then don't look at Indy. To me that is a further stretch to see dirt racers get a ride. Plus less rides even available. F1 would be even worst.

Kyle Larson may be the exception. His family wasn't rich. Same with Tony Stewart. Those guys were generational drivers, and thankfully for us, the stars aligned and Nascar team owners saw the talent.

For the past 20ish years are we in a time where we have more dirt drivers than ever in NASCAR?

Getting off topic here. I think TC is talented however does he have money, and sponsors that will follow him, if he decides to make that jump. Marshalls are the only ones I can think of that might.

I don't think it is a thing where Nascar does not look attractive any longer to drivers, as much as the cost/asking price from owners in order to get a ride has gone up to such an amount to where they have almost priced drivers out of rides. The days of drivers getting opportunities based on performance. Sponsorships and money have always been a part of the sport but now it has gotten to the point  where you could have a driver like a full time driver in any form of racing (late models, dirt late model, sprint cars, etc) that has won big races contended for titles or won titles vs a driver that has not accomplished anything but has millions of dollars of backing and the owners will choose the driver with the money everytime.

Same, and why I started drinking Rockstar a few years ago. Now it's either NOS or ROWDY.
