Had the same thought.
Is this confirmed or just a prediction?

do not know if this is for real or not, but trouble with all of the high pay races is that they do not pay on down the field in proportion to first place. Husets is to pay $250,000 to win down to $5,000 to make A main. I do not think five grand is enough if you pay 250 to win. Some tracks pay about the same for every place ftom 11 th to 24 th.

I think it works for the promoter. Lots of chatter about the high money, could cause some insane racing for all who have a shot with 10 to 15 laps left and should attract a lot of cars willing to be happy for 24th in the A main to win almost as much as 1st place in an Ascoc race.

True, there's at least 20-30 races that pay $5,000 to start...oh wait

Tony can do what he wants. But I wonder what a million dollars would do in the point fund as far as collecting more cars to travel full time and would he make more money that way in return

Million to win race is a bad idea. There is a limited amount of teams that can pull this off. If you have this type of resources for a purse like that you need to restructure it so the guys running deep in the field make good money also.

Yes, they should all get a participation trophy too.
The fans in the seats come to see who is going to win a Million bucks, not the feel good story that the 13th place car got $12000 instead of $5000.

Here's what you do.
Go make friends with people who just cashed out and got over 700 million on lottery.
Get them to invest 50 million into a sprintcar program.
Depending on where you invest it you could make 3.5-7% monthly. about 5 million a month
Put 35% of that back on 50 million and give the rest to winning's ect per month.
What would a budget of 3 + million a month look like at the track.
You could pay promoters and high purses making it so beer was a $1 , admission $5 reserved could be $10
haha

You put a million to win out there. I'll put a purse out there that has a better structure for a guy that knows he can possibly make money IF he can get in the A main. Let's see how far the alphabet we go back in mains.

I seriously, and mean seriously, doubt the return on investment would be higher by adding a million to the point fund compared to having 20,000+ people paying 70+ dollar a tickets, plus concessions, on the million to win night.

Tony's has a lot of support from businesses so I don't think it would be a poor decision on his part. We're already talking about it before it's even announced.
Regardless of how the purse is structred it gets everyone excited.

Its not about the fans
Its about keeping the lesser funded teams viable

That's what they did for the mopar million wingless sprint race at Elodra back in 2004. It was originally going to be 1 million to win but they dropped the winners share to 200G so they could add the money through the purse. It's the right thing to do IMO.
