Going into the new season, and with the new hi limit adventure. Whats everyone's thought on what tracks mite bring the new kids on the block in ? As the outlaws criss cross the country will they stop in ohio or western pa before coming to central pa ? Will Lernerville try to get dates as they travel past ? Will the woo come down on any track that does schedule a  HL show.  I for one see a possibility for them to hAve several tracks on a eastern swing list. Lernerville, Port Royal, Baps, Selinsgrove,  I think those 4 tracks could support a HL show. Question is what will the sanctioning fee's be and of those 4 named who would be interested.

In my opinion, Hi Limit shoud avoid scheduling any races at already WoO established tracks, purposely to avoid any conficts with World Racing and the track promoters.  There are plenty of tracks that would love to have a mid week sprint car show that for whatever the reason don't or cant book a WoO show.  For an example, when the WoO is at I-70, Lakeside, etc, book a weekday show at Salina hight banks, New Tulsa Speedway or the new Arrowhead speedway in Eastern Okla.  I'm sure there are many other examples in other areas where Hi Limit could book a show without conflict with other tracks or the World Racing.

Wayne County Speedway, Orrville, Ohio

This is where they had a 2nd race planned that the weather cancelled.

Waynesfield

Great minds think alike....I was going to say Waynesfield too! I know that it is one of Larson's favorite tracks.

My central PA guess is BAPS.

Wouldn't the WOO drivers be permitted to race at a track that has a WOO date during their off days as long as it wasn't within 48 hrs, or did they change that?

I think they still had to have WoO approval.

It would seem to me the WoO have a great opportunity here if they were to work with the High Limit.

Why is that? The WoO have a 45 year history of proven success and High Limit wants a seat at the Big Boy table.

Agreed.   I believe that there is almost no chance that the WOO is going to work with the High Limit tour or allow their premier drivers to race those dates.   They have a lot to lose and almost nothing to gain.

Better start listening to their premier drivers, because they want change and more opportunities for bigger purses... $10,000 to win isn't going to cut it anymore.

Be honest. Would you stop going to WoO races if say, Sweet, Haudenshield and some other big name like Larson wasn't there?

To be fair, WoO is a tightly controlled racing club. It's $10,000 to win, plus a lot of other money if you belong to the club. They let the drivers decide if they want to join their club, follow their rules and collect their bonus money. And, they'll let you race with them even if you don't belong to their club.

Whether we like it or not, the WoO is a busines, in it for profit. That's what guides their policies. I imagine you'd see a similar situation if someone started a USFL and wanted the NFL to let their players play Wednesday night games.

Nothing to do whether I would go to a WoO show, me personally will go to any good sprint car race... give me a 30 car field and it's go time, however for teams and drivers who want to race for bigger purses,  I think the WoO will hurt themselves by not letting teams race other shows. To me somewhat working together only builds the sport.

I dont think the WoO platinums follow the series for the $10,000 to win. You cant budget or expect to get that on a consistent basis. Look at Rose and Gass, obviously there is enough perks just for being platinum to stay on the road for multiple years without to ten money. With or without Schatz and Sweet rhe WoO will not have a problem filling bleachers. The current big names draw some for sure but a tight point race between the 4 or 5 20 somethings could make up for the loss of the multi time champs.

I personally think that if the HL races are to get money into pockets they wouldnt want the WoO or even the All Stars to attend. As king as you can get 30nish cars the big prize money will bring fans and hopefully that kjneyvwill go into a mid level team and give them some boost to develop. Grow the sport dont feed the top tier.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I'll admit I haven't followed this whole story real close because I really don't think it will be an issue this summer.  But from my understanding the HL series wants to run about 10 races midweek and not interfere with the WOO?  First off am I correct in that understanding?  I also understand that WOO drivers can't run a non WOO race without their permission?  If I'm understanding all that correctly, why does the WOO care about the HL series?  They're not running head to head, so what's the difference?  I wouldn't think the WOO would want to turn quality cars away from their series.

You almost have everything correct.  HL has stated that they want to run a limited series, and only run midweek shows that have no conflicts.   (I think they said Tuesdays only).   WOO premium drivers (top 15ish) recieve tow money and other incentives to run exclusively with the WOO.   The WOO cares about this because they want to protect thier brand.   If you want to see Sweet, Schatz, Haud, etc., you have to go watch them with the WOO.

This is something that the non-wing guys have fought for years.   Why would a fan pay $40 to watch a USAC race, if he can wait a week and see almost all of the same drivers at a local show for $15.

The WOO will accept all drivers to thier races.  They will only pay tow money to the Premium drivers.   Brian Brown, Rico Abru, etc are the type of drivers that the HL races are hoping to get to attend thier shows.   Those same drivers are welcome at an Outlaws event, but once they do not recieve the same benefits as the premium drivers.

It all does matter.

$30,000 to win show is not going to be no $15 to get in.
