After watching YouTube I missed the original scuffle but caught the tail end of the second one. I really thought it was a gennetten crew member fighting with a zearfoss crew member. Now it looks like a drunken fan came down talking crap starting a fight. Idiot.

Saw a twitter post that it was a 13 yo kid that Zearfross went after. I remember when kids were not allowed in the pits

Tempers must of been flaring Friday night, cause I saw Bernie from Indy race parts take Mike Vanderecken to the ground trying to leave

Everybody involved in the scuffles saw were older than 13. Even if it was a 13 year old that kid shouldn't be running his mouth to a driver in the pits. What is with everyone anymore thinking they have a right to talk crap with no repercussions.

We went down to the pits afterwards on Friday and actually went to Brock's pit area as he is one of my son's favorites as well ever since he drove the blue 70car with the All Stars a few years ago. My son walked up to Brock and said he was sad and mad that he didn't transfer and Brock even replied, "don't be sad buddy, I'm ok and the car is ok....just part of racing. We'll go at it again tomorrow. Did you have fun?"
The common themes that I have noticed in any type of these scuffles is it usually starts with someone opening their mouth talking crap trying to act like a tough guy and usually the person opening said mouth either does not have dime invested or any type of merit to be talking crap in the first place. The issue was between gennetten and Zearfross, it should be kept that way. No crew member, sponsor, fan, wife, girlfriend, uncle buck, etc needs to go over to the other's pit area and open their mouth. If they do then they get what they get.

This is surprising given Bernie's even and calm demeanor. Vanderecken is a nice fella but not the sharpest tack in the pits so who knows what could have sparked it

Mike was trying to back out of his pit stall, and bernie didn't want to wait. So he pulled ahead and blocked him in. Knoxville needs to figure out a better way to get cars out of the pits on Friday of the nationals
