I can't help but laugh every single year about the hatred for the World of Outlaws.   Every year, droves of sprint car fans flock to the social media boards to bash them.  I'm not really sure what fans want?  We:

1.  Want better purses-----but we curse corporate involvement.

2.  Want better purses-----but we curse the Outlaws who generally have the biggest purses.

3.  Complain about the lack of attendance at dirt events all over the country--------when the Oultaws bring close to sold out crowds everywhere they go.

4.  Complain about the Outlaws participation rules, even though they have built a viable, professional business model that most responsible business men and women would endorse.

5.  Cry favoritism for work area rule infractions----when no one can actually point out a single work area rule infraction  (Please don't bring up maximum time allowed examples because in the rules, there is no maximum time only a minimum)

6.  Bitch, moan, and complain about souvenir trailer rules----when not a single one of us runs a souvenir trailer business---and if you do, the outlaws did not stop you from selling t-shirts.  (and if they did, see #4)

7.  Forget where our drivers are or were---------all of the sudden, everyone from PA is a Marks fan?  And he is kicking the outlaws asses?  Where the F#$$# was he when he was a full time outlaw?  Don't get me wrong, I love BM and was present for his first Outlaw win (and cheered him on because he was an Outlaw) , but I have never seen a bunch of coat-tail riding bastards in my life.  Are Schuchart and Allen Posse or Outlaws?  Just curious in case they win something big so I know what side to root for.  If Logan or Jacob win the Nationals, are we going to have to listen to Posse crap, or will everyone acknowledge that they are Outlaws?  Or, is this subjective to however everyone from Eastern PA is feeling?

Just for the record, I was a Brent Marks fan before you knew his name. Crowds are ok when I go to where he called his Sat. home before anyone west of Pa. knew his name. They are paying a pretty good purse there tonight but two non Outlaw races there this year pay more and $10,000 or more I think nine times this year. I don't hate the Outlaws but respect some more than others probably the guy in the 15 most because in my opinion he is a better and cleaner driver than most. Get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?

You seem like you are close to a meltdown, there is always someone to talk to. Don't be ashamed to ask for help.

wink

Not close to a meltdown------sat around the pool on vacation, tipped back a couple too many, and read a few too many complaints on social media about the World of Outlaws and their policies.  I'm sober now.  I still feel the same way, but I'm much calmer now.  Smile

I didn't go last night and will I NEVER go to Port until Razor Steve is gone!   Larson ran away with it last night.  I for one am glad Larson comes to PA !  He makes everyone run harder.  If you are off your game a little he will pass you and let you see his tailtank....that is if you can stay close enough.

In the top 5 at Port last night.  I don't hate the outlaws, just really like when they get a spanking like they did last night!

1 - Traveler - Non Posse or Outlaw

3 - Posse - 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

1 - Outlaw - Sheldon was 5th.

Top 10

1 - Traveler - Non Posse or Outlaw

6 - Posse

3 - Outlaws

Looks to me like that was pretty much Domination of the Outlaws.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Posse have definitely found some speed this year. Outlaws are off collectively, and not just in PA. They did not have the success they are accustomed to at Eldora.

Don't think Pa fans hate Woo. Know for a fact that at Lincoln when Allen won . the place went nuts. Many off them have strong connection to Pa. Allen, Scuhart, Zearfoss, all started racing here. Gravel came he alot when he really was unknown  #89. Everyone knows Woo the best in the country, that is why its so cool when once in great while they get beat by the locals. Ps. Pa locals have beat them more than any other locals in the country. LOOK IT UP!!

i don't see a lot of hate for the outlaws.  the posse vs outlaw stuff shows up on social media from the woo and the few media members who follow the local racing.  it's more a marketing thing and something people can talk about when they don't know enough to talk about anything else.  i think most people really enjoy the outlaws which is why the crowds turn out and don't really care about the rivalry other than just being interested to see how the pa teams stack up.

only complaint i've brought up about the outlaws recently was the fight.  an official jumping a crew member isn't a good look especially when you don't hold him accountable.  correct me if a suspension or termination happened that i don't know about.  otherwise i don't mind the format and love the collection of drivers they have.

i didn't like having a support division with them last night.  everybody was gone from the pits by the time it was over.  lincoln and the grove never have support series so i'm not sure why last night was different.  it was a good wingless sportsman race and i got to see somebody race who i hadn't seen yet this year.

port did an awesome job getting the program over.  it feels like it takes williams grove 10 minutes to roll off a heat.  port puts them on the track and turns them loose.

i do agree pa fans are fair weather fans.  actually macri is probably the biggest beneficiary of it this year...or at least until last weekend.  i'll admit i'm more of a marks fan today than i was in may.  i find a lot of these guys to be really nice and easy to root for which is part of why my t-shirt collection has ballooned so much.  i saw lots of marks stuff even when he was struggling just like you still see a lot of brock zearfoss stuff.  what i try not to do is wash my hands of guys as soon as they stop winning.  ryan smith is still my favorite driver and it was a shame he couldn't hold on to a transfer spot last night in the lcs.

I don't think many people actually "hate" the WoO...

We just root for different teams

As for Schuchart, Allen etc., they're "Posse alumni"... just like Michael Jordan being a Chicago Bull doesn't negate the fact that he was a North Carolina Tarheel too

There is only one driver that I would cheer over the Posse.  Yes, it is Larson and then the Posse.

The other poster brought it up.  I wanted to let him know I don't deal with anything Port Royal related.

Its usually around this time of year every year I notice a lot of people crying/complaining about the outlaws as well on social media. So far this month I have seen people complaining about t-shirt trailers, provisionals being used, conspiracy theories about work area/tires/scheduling/tracks/etc, this guy is an outlaw that guy is a "true" outlaw, this guy is an Outlaw but he's from (insert whatever state you want), and on an on. Fact of the matter is the sport needs the Outlaws and if it was not for them a lot of these events would be no where near the level that they are currently.

Fans of this sport are a really interesting bunch. I remember a number of people on here who were Posse supporters referring to Brent Marks as "Bent Parts" years ago and some were even laughing at the fact that he went on the Outlaw circuit. Now all of a sudden a lot of people seem to be claiming to have supported him for years. I was routing for him on Saturday at the end just because I thought it would be cool someone winning both the Historical Big One and Kings Royal and it didn't matter to me where the heck he was born. But to say I saw it coming and was hoping for him to win at the beginning of the week would be a lie. To me he's a racer and earned what he has by going out, traveling, getting his butt kicked early on in his career, not giving up, learning, going through the rough times, and now he is reaping the rewards of it. That is the reason for his success, Shark Racing's success, Schatz's, Sweet's, Haudenschild's, etc not where they were born.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this.   You see EXACTLY what I see---spot on!

When I roll out to South-Central Iowa next month, I will be pulling for a Larson repeat, but I will also be cheering for someone like Marks to pull what would be an upset.  I'm not even pulling for an Outlaw, but how can we disrespect the group that will be the overwhelming favorite to be holding the trophy----well, besides the guy in the 57 car.
