I realize driver points are for the man and team points are for the owner. But in regards to the points listed on the WoO website the order us different from list to list and I dibt recall any substitute drivers in the top 5. Why is the order different and why are the point totals different?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

The driver points show as updated on 7/16, and the owner points show as updated on 7/10. I assume once the owner points are updated they'll be the same in the top 5.

The surprising thing to me is sweet leading with 1 win. I get consistency wins championships but come on. Wins should point stronger than they do. Gravels top 5 and 10 is similar with more wins.

They do point stronger, you win you get the most points than anyone that 1 night. Every race matters which is the part that a lot of people forget. The DNF and bad finishes should hurt you just as much as wins and finishing up front helps you. And it is not counting the top 5's and 10's but where did you finish in the top 5 and top 10. If two drivers finish in the top 5 and driver A finishes 2nd the Driver B finishes 5th then A gets 6more points than the 5th place. If the next race driver B finishes 5th and Driver A finishes 6th then techically driver B has more top 5's than A. However Driver A scored 4more points than B and had a better avg finish (4th vs 5th). It is simple math. The higher you finish, the more points you score it is that simple. A win is not a mulligan for a bad finish. EVERY race counts, not just the ones that each driver won.
As for driver vs owner points, the 9car might be higher in owner points than driver points due to Kasey Kahne having to sit out a number of races due to health issues. I am not sure how they would score Kraig also for being out but I believe they give them points due to injury as well.

The only thing that will fix their point system is following nascars format and the chase or playoff system. That's the only way to crown a true champion.
