A friend forwarded a posting to me, offering a first class Chili Bowl ride for $12,000....stating it's the "same deal drivers like Leffler and Stewart have gotten in the past." The Chili Bowl will pay $10K to win. Add a few accessory prizes, some lap money and a handful of frisbees, and I still can't get the math to work out. Start subtracting travel, lodging, entertainment (see also----Elephant Run) and a few other miscellaneous things, and the equation gets really nutsoid. And all you have to do is beat up on the best dirt trackers in the world. I realize the "experience" is worth something, but it's no wonder people think racers are a little "off." Wait a minute....the deal also comes with coaching and setup by Sammy Swindell. Sorry I questioned it.

Ha ha. That's funny.
"The best way to make a small fortune in racing is to start with a large one". This just goes to show how true that old saying is. They obviously do it for the love of the sport, which is just one of the many things I love about dirt track racing.
I like dirt!

Well, if your planning on running midgets full-time that year then at least you would know what the basic setup would be as Sammy is a great teacher - no matter how long and drawn out it is. But pay that much just to race? If you have the extra money layin around to do it then more power to ya (him)!!

$12 bucks is good , hell all I ever win is maybe a free ticket on the scratch off's, but the great thing is there is always hope for the next Sat. or Wed. drawing.
