heard from a very reliable source that Scott Benic is in the process of putting a new team together for 2008 to run WoO with Chad Blonde as driver. Anybody else have any info regarding this?

Muddy, this was posted on my web site a long time ago....just an FYI.....
NEW WoO TEAM IN 2008? - (9-18-07 @ 4:45 pm) - STRONG RUMOR/FACT - Another story to break on Monday's edition of "Win It or Wear It" on www.racinboys.com was the fact that another Australian driver may be joining the WoO in 2008. Kerry "Mad Man" Madsen was being interviewed and was asked about his thoughts on Gary Brazier. Kerry started to say something about Gary and possible plans for 2008 but stopped himself before spilling the beans. As the conversation continued, Kerry did state that Gary Brazier will be running with the WoO in 2008 or at least a very strong schedule in the USA. For those of you not familiar with Gary Brazier, he is a gasser and is very fun to watch on the race track. He definitely can win some races over here but tends to have tantrums that leave everyone scratching their heads. He was over here a few years ago and having a good summer when he took off and went back to Australia without warning to his team. If he can keep his head on straight and be focused, he can be a popular driver here in the USA and win some races. We will have to see if this rumor holds true. UPDATE #1 - (9-19-07 @ 10:30 pm) - FACT -Gary Brazier is coming back to race in the USA in 2008. I received a couple of emails today from my Australian friends saying this is FACT. Gary gave an interview to an Australian Racing Magazine called Speedway Racing News recently. In the article, it stated that Gary will be competing in at least half of the WoO scheduled events in 2008 with an all out assault on the 2009 schedule if things go as planned during the 2008 schedule. The team will be housed in Kentucky at the Gary Stanton race shop with Gary and his dad Steve Brazier running the show. Brazier's transporter that they used a couple of years ago is still at Stanton's race shop and will be used when the team heads back out during the 2008 racing season. It looks like the USA sprint car scene will be getting a little more AU flavor in 2008.
Have a good one.

Gary Braizer will be running for his dad using MOPAR motors built by Gary Stanton and the car will be based at Stantons shop. That is the only thing Stanton has involved with the team.

The racing season down here is only just warming up (it's not summer yet) and Garry Brazier has 5 feature wins already.

Remember when Gary was banned from the All Stars for a year for punting Kenny Jacobs at K-C Raceway?

"Yes Alex, I'll take 'World of Outlaws History' for $200, please."
The year these two men teamed-up on the Outlaws trail, Garry Brazier and Gary Stanton.
"What was 1997?"
"Correct, select again...."

Didn't just about everybody who didn't have a full-time ride drive for Stanton at least once? Some twice?

I may be mistaken, but I believe Brazier drove a year or two at Knoxville many years ago. I want to say the car was #21. It seemed like he was almost a regular. Maybe Bill W. can verify that. But if my memory does serve me right he was extremely fast, always on the edge, but fast enough to beat just about anybody. He will do well on tour and would be my pick to steal a couple race wins.
I want to say it was about the same time that Dumsney was a regular at Knoxville.

Brazier, Yes he can be good. He could be better as well. I must say the 5 wins this year to date have only been club shows with limited opposition. His recent world series round in brisbane was not to bad amongst better teams but not outstanding by any means. He needs to control his brain a bit more eg no more dummy spits & just drive good gear & results will come. Seems like if he drives for others apart from Dad he tends to find conflict & contraversary. When he gets bad results for an owner its the owners gear fault not his. Don't get me wrong people, Yes he can & has driven well, Would I give him a WOO Ride? well not my first or second choice, But `dad can & is, Will it last?, in my opinion only no. If they get good results with quality sponsors they could turn a few heads but there are better drivers & teams out there. I can't see the Braziers doing or completeing a WOO Tour. I think a few local shows & maybe some big dollar shows. If I am wrong, well I eat humble pie i guess. Its good to see some Aussies on the WOO tour but as we know, its not easy to attract U.S. sponsor dollars & that is needed with a decent budget to complete this Tour. Being Media Friendly helps. Good luck to all Aussies that get a chance.
