I hope State Fair, Brill or some other local tracks are planning to bring these pros in next year. Class operation with class drivers.

You must be taking Ambien and sleep typing - instead of sleep walking.
There's more sprint cars than stock cars around these parts..........(hint hint)

No wonder for years there were standing room only crowds at the fair grounds when the late models were there!!! There were no freaking sprints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You really believe that sprint propaganda!! Its so freaking funny you can 'try' and joke about it!!!!!
Anyone who knows and is local racing knows a late modle show would draw more fans then any, (inculding the once proud woo) sprint show has in the last few years!!! Its a no brainer!!! But like always someone won't make enough money to make it worth it! You people are so deep in the sprint world you forgot that more part time race fans and even once a year people would go to a great looking hard driving late model show, then a show that has cars that don't look like anything they can relate too!!! Get in the freaking game!!!

They tried NCRA late models during the fourth of July weekend a couple of years ago. Big crowd but only because it was fireworks night. Happens everytime you mention fireworks.
Had the topless TORA a couple of years ago (2005) promoted by Xtreme as part of that great year but didn't have a big crowd.
The NCRA late models during the fair, back in the good ole days when there was racing during the fair, drew good crowds but nothing to get a woodie about.
The MARCAR promoted WoO shows always drew the most people and the biggest crowds everytime they came to town.

Over the last 2 years i've seen 5 or 6 late model shows. NCRA,SUPRA,MLRA, and the only one that had decent racing was the IMCA late models at boone,ia.

I know you're still a sprint guy at heart (we're still working on that Ha ha) and gotta take up for your class but I've gotta disagree with you on your Fireworks theory. I've been to plenty of shows at plenty of tracks that have had fireworks displays and none of them drew the crowd that the SFS had when they brought in SUPR and the NCRA. I'd be willing to accept that the Fireworks may have helped bring some of the crowd in... but to say that they were there ONLY for the fireworks. Doubtful.
If you're there just for the fireworks why pay $15 or whatever the price of admission was to watch a high dollar amateur fireworks show when you can watch it for FREE from the grass lot to the south of the speedway... or the parking lots to the east, on the other side of May? I saw a few people doing just that. Also there is a BIG professional fireworks show downtown that is free and one on Tinker which I believe is also free (could be wrong as I've never been). Either there are a LOT of stupid people out there or it wasn't just the fireworks that brought the crowd in on the 4th.
I'd be willing to bet that if the SFS were to put on a NCRA vs SUPR show on the 4th of July WITHOUT fireworks there would still be a great turn out.
Latemodels are a rarity and a special treat around these parts (Kind of like the BIG modified shows.... oh wait... they're all but extinct in these parts. ) so people go to see them when they come. The TORA show did have a poor turn out, though.
Anyway, don't take this too seriously I'm just having some fun with ya. Ha ha.

I gotta disagree here too. What can I say I'm in a disagreeing mood tonight. Ha ha.
Now, I agree that there are probably more sprints than latemodels.... but stock cars? If you're meaning stockcars as in the full bodied classes then there is no way, man. Think of all the modifieds, factories, streets/pros, bombers/pure stocks, limited modifieds, and even minis that are in the state. Its not even close.
(Just giving you a hard time too.)

Sure did! At first I thought Baby Bone had pulled all the way out to Elk City for a two day $2k to win show and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why. Ha ha. I soon found out that Tyler was in the car. So how are you guys liking that TRE by Bone?

Of course your right on there dogwater! Just because a few people around and in sprints say, 'its a sprint town", don't make it the truth! We sure got our share of sprint people in the sport thats for sure. But most big shows are filled with the once or twice a year fan who jus want to go to a race once in a while! And the truth is a real (no bull crap topless $h-t either)late model show a few times a year would have a great draw and just grow, even without people paying 20 bucks for fireworks!! lmmfao!
No wonder local racing is in the way it is today, this is just proof how out of touch people in and around the sport are around here.

We have had the Show Me Racing Series Late Models at West Siloam several times. They put on a good show.Easy people to work with and they bring their own officials.Plus the SMRS doesnt cost the tracks as much to bring in.Like the bigger series do.The LM's are pretty much IMCA type cars. We have had 18 to 28 show up at the shows we have had.

Show-me is a great series and defintly puts on a good show. The only thing is you don't see the speed that you do with open latemodels.
