Does anyone else think that Christopher Bell has become very unlikable?

I've always rooted for him, but you're correct-------he doesn't have quite the same likeable personality of someone like Larson and some of the other drivers with sprint car roots.

I've heard his side of interviews about the supposable rivalry which he doesn't really acknowledge. What does he do that is unbecoming?.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

He was a humble kid , but now with success and marige he's changed a lot.

Not very approchable and comes off snobby these day's.

At the chili bowl when Larson lost his prelim night to Buddy a lot of people comented on CB attitude.

He was acting way to stoked , and going around in KKM pit celebrating more then Buddy it would seem.

Final night stage interveiw CB said he felt he lost last year due to starting on second row.

He also said starting on the pole no excusses should get it done.

Congratulations Tanner Thorson on winning the 2022 Chili Bowl !!!

haha

Typical Joe Gibbs driver.  Look at Hamlin and Busch.  Truex also changed when he went to Gibbs.

The guy can get it done in a midget and sprint car. In the world of nascrap it's been a different story. He has been struggling and if he soon doesn't turn things around at Gibbs  I thing he may be out. I believe that mite have something to do with what people seem to think he has become unfriendly.  One thing for sure when he shows up at a dirt race he is up on the wheel and he's not there to make friends.

I watched him on Youtube (Swindell Speedlab) video and he seemed pretty down to earth.

Same has been said about Steve, Sammy and Smoke.

Guys, we want these drivers to be genuine. We bitch and moan when nascar spits out all these cookie cutter drivers that have no personality and say all the right things for the sponsors. Kyle Busch is a prime example of not being the most approachable, likeable guy but he has his place in Nascar.

CB doesn't have to be likeable. There are many posters on here that are not likeable. I just want him to succeed in NASCAR, and hopefully get to see him race on the dirt.

Donnie Schatz is no different, but I can appreciate his importance and place in dirt racing.

bell was really approachable at lincoln this year.  signed some photos i took of him at pocono for my kids...and even complimented me for how good they were.  i'll love him forever for that.

kyle busch is a different level of unlikeable.  i don't see bell ever going in that direction.

His talent is not far off Kyle on dirt. His clean cut apperance and not blaming people are the reason He has done so well. I have never seen one interview with Bell or Larson where they act like spoiled little kids The days of the Hewitt ,Tony, and Sammy saying exactly what they are thinking isnt exactly what some sponsers want but makes the highlite reel. Some of the top NASCAR drivers help the ratings with their antics taken from WWF.The Chili Bowl invitation to fight on the front stretch would be good for ratings.Using your car as a weapon should never be tolerated.I personally think Bell is likable

Correct, CB doesn't have to be likeable.  That doesn't mean someone cannot make the observation.  He really didn't do anything "wrong" for me to not have a warm fuzzy feeling about him................he just doesn't have a lot of personality from a fan's perspective.  It doesn't matter as he can drive and he can get the job done.

My dad was fortunate enough to meet Bell while he was an up and comer and has been his biggest fan since then, even hanging out with him a few times at the World Finals.

From my own personal experience... I rented out a track in the Carolinas last year before the season started to help the newbies in 305s.  Bell found my number and asked if he could practice too.  I said sure if he promised to give advice to all our guys in attendance.   He was excited to help.  Unfortunately we rained out, but track promoters seeing CBell at a Carolina track waiting to practice helped us secure a few winged sprint car dates in the Carolinas because they are hopeful a Kahne or Bell or Larson or Stewart are going to compete with us one day down the road and it might be at their track.

These guys are helping us out so much in the Southeast.  A dead spot for sprint car racing.  Hopefully we can get guys like Bowman investing around the Carolinas and Elliott bringing sprints and midgets to Georgia!

I've been fortunate enough to hangout with the nicest human being in the world, Kahne.  Bell isnt far behind.  Neither is Larson or even Stewart!

Especially when you want to talk sprint car racing...

I've not found CB to be so bad when approached. Most drivers who reach that level of success do change somewhat. It is inevitable. Some gofurthervthan others.

Some of that crew at Gibbs has to rub off a little. Especially since he drove for Busch in trucks, I think. He hung around at Shootout with Busch also, as both drove there and Busch's son was driving.

I met C Bell at Eldora at the Kings Royal when he was 19 years old.  He was driving a number 53 that was clearly not first class equipment.  I talked to him in the pits for 5 or 10 minutes.  He seemed to be a person of few words but carried on a good conversation.  He got the hard charger award , from 16th to 6th in 30 laps.

I spoke to him again a year or so later, again at The Kings Royal.  Again, he was soft spoken and a man of few word.  He was driving a Kuntz car then, had a half lap lead on the field at the Kings Royal, cut a right rear down with just a few laps left.

He is either naturally quiet or shy, but he is not unfriendly.  He is also a technical, patient driver, takes good care of equipment and  had a lot of top tens in Cup in 2021.  I pull for him every week.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread about C. Bell's clean cut appearance making him popular.  With dirt track racing's top series getting so much exposure around the country on Floracing and the other live streamed media, why do so many of these drivers present themselves looking like they just stumbled out of a single-wide in Appalachia? Is it to create an image for themselves or their sponsors, or for the lifestyle of a rough and tough traveling racer? It takes 5 minutes to grab a shave in the morning, or to trim existing facial hair.

If this is done on purpose to exacerbate the "image", I'm okay with that. Just curious, as it seems to have become more prolific over the past couple of years.
