Any 305 racers/teams with problems of internal coil mags failing from over heatng?
Also heard from a mag shop that Tayler Cable Products was sold to Pertronix Performance Brands, and the new owners don't want the (Vertex) magneto business.
Once last thing, whats your take on rare-earth magnets being too hard on the mag gears and pins?

Internal coils will fail if subject to to much heat
Taylor cable was sold to Pertonix
Someone has purchased the Vertex side from Pertonix
I see 305 mags that have the gear teeth so thin & sharp that you could shave with them but it's not from rare earth magnets though.
Rare earth magnets are no harder on roll pins than a msd if the right roll pin is used.
Rare earth magnets are hard on the spindle shaft / Drive diamond & when used the maintenance on them doubles.

Does anyone have a solution for Tachs not working with the Mallory/sprint mag ignitions? ive sent my ignition and tach back to the tach shop to test with and they say it works fine on the test bench, on the car it gives errors and wildly high RPM numbers

call Glen Saville 515-205-7301. He rebuilds those magnetos and can make some changes on them. He is an Aussie that relocated to USA. Has his own car and has been on crew of several drivers.

What brand tac is it? Tel tac? Do you have the resistor installed? Is the tac on the correct setting?

put a ground wire from head up to other ground wire. Have someone else try your tach.
