Williams Grove and the track crew for last night deserve a standing ovation!!! Great feature last night!!  After time trials track was really nice!!  A rut going into turn one was easily fixed!

Agree, had a very enjoyable time at the Grove last night. Thought the pre-race round table discussions with Mr. as Center of attention was a nice start to the evening. Mother Nature co-operated, a Hugh crowd that bordered on WoO size and a good carcount (38) with a nice mix of invaders (Rico, Buddy Kofoid, Sam Hafertepe); all-stars (McMahan, Peck, Gee, Rinehart); and Posse “non-Grove regulars” ( Mike & Logan Wagner).

Early drama in hot laps when the 69k pulled off after some engine smoke. Blown engine? Fortunately, for Dewease fans, easily fixed  oil line issue.

One of the highlights of the evening was a phone interview with Doug Wolfgang. He shared humorous stories about his time driving the 29 and working with Davey Jr and Sr.

25 green flag laps and lapped traffic contributed to what I thought was an entertaining feature. Rico jumped to a nice size lead from the  pole. Cisney and Dewease caught him in lapped traffic with Lance getting by both around lap 10. Lance checked out after the pass. An advantage to watching a race in person vs. on a computer is the ability to see battles throughout the field. Great race for2nd through the middle stages between Rico, Cisney, and Macri. DD and Freddie were fun to watch as they moved toward the front. Dietrich finished 3rd and Rahmer 4th and hard charger.

Victory lane was wild and capped off by Davey taking a swig of champagne on ‘his night’ All and all a very nice evening at the Grove.

I’ll leave track prep discussion to other posters on this board.

Did I see somewhere about guys best laps in the feature being 19 - 20 seconds? You mean there was really good racing with those lap times? I thought that was boring.

Williams Grove was as fast as you would have wanted it for time trials and the heats. The track changed a lot from the beginning of the feature to the end.  That is a great track.  Besides Williams Grove is a much slower track because of the way the track is laid out.  High 16 second bracket in time trials is perfect at the Grove.

Unlike Port where it is blacktop part way through the heats for the rest of the night.  Track wasn't a blacktop like you get when razor Steve to prepares it for you.  Port is the worst prepared track in PA. The crews have very few changes throughout the night at Port at Williams Grove last night they had to make a lot more changes than fuel and tires. For port to have a good feature it needs to be in the 15 second brack for time trials. Not 16 or slower like they normally have it.

Lincoln had a great track last night too.  Track changed a lot from the beginning of the feature to the end.  Great job Fred.

So if it changed a lot during the feature and 20 seconds was guys best time, what was it at the end 24? Keep trying talk your way out it. Can't you handle the truth? You can't have it both ways.

Williams Grove wasn't hard black and dry all night long like the Port is.  When you have two drag strips with sharper turns you will have slower times all night long even though the track changed a lot during the night.  Like I said Williams Grove was great Friday.

Port is the worst prepared track in PA!! We are at dirt tracks not asphalt like Port is all the time! I noticed Mike cleck paved the track for the speed week shows.... oops my mistake he did that at over the off season!

Yes Fred did a super track prep.  Talked to a couple of travelers that are in for speedweek and they said he was there Friday most of the day watering the track and it showed.  Great race and track surface last night!!

Exactly

I missed it, gonna have to settle for replay, was in Louisiana dancing this weekend, hot & humid but crazy fun

Met a guy down there from Des Moines whose brother used to build cars for Leonard McCarl... small world! Smile

Doesn't matter if you are in person or watching on the iNet.  You can tell when a track is properly prepared.

The only times port gets it right is when mother nature helps them out!

It changed a lot and had a lot of grip..... something port can never say...WG  had a lot of grip ...port is nothing more than a slip and slide all night long every time they race!

Lincoln had a lot of grip too and we saw a great feature!

Nope, only speaking the truth!  I will never be quiet about the truth!  If port keeps going for regular shows they will not have a full field of sprinters again since some have left and went to Lincoln!

But if they have 50 cars show for the Tuscarora 50 you'll find something wrong with that to.

Nope, just talking regular 410 shows.  For regular shows they havn't had a full field the last 3 times they raced.

21 - 19 - 20  were the counts last 3 times they had regular shows.

It your opinion, not necessarily "the truth"

& I wasn't even talking about track prep, like I ALREADY SAID

Do you go on a rant about PR when your wife asks what you want for dinner?

You have an obsession, might want to try some kind of medication...

It is the truth.  You just don't like the truth.  Slip and slides are for the back yard not for a racetrack.  People don't like to hear the truth, but the truth is if Port doesn't wake up soon,  they will not get a full field of cars for any of the remaining regular shows for the 410's.   If and when they do wake up it probably be too late.

The Grove is as ass backward of any tracks. They prep it or lack of & time trial in the 17's & 18's. Somehow they build a cushion in 4 & just a flat to fluff 1st & 2nd turn. The track did widen out & a few cars did some passing.  Congrats to Sheldon who was very erratic at the end.

The one thing I do every time I visit this forum which is about once per week, is look for any thread topic about something related to Central PA. The. I always go to the last post and scroll back. Why do I do that? I can guarantee that a$$clown A and B turn EVERY thread into a Port Royal thread. Give it up and go away, like I said before you are a complete embarrassment to racing. I see WILLIAMS GROVE as a topic and gave it a read. I go to the end and guess what...

I am begging EVERY race fan on here, including myself, to never EVER reference these two idiots again. Once they post on a thread, do your absolute very best to not make any further comments. Simply start a new thread. If we can eliminate them 100% from this forum, it will be a much better world and a much better racing season. I all but guaranteed he will post after this one, but don't anyone reply. To continue talking about WG, start anew. Thank you everyone.

If the track is too dry early...it will be follow the leader in the feature.  It always is when it gets dry too early!  Been there saw that many times. I hope they have it close to that wet as last night at the beginning of the night.  Track was perfect for the feature.  We pay to see the feature....not the heats or TT!
