According to his website he is in the 27 the rest of the year. Unless they run two cars I guess Shaffer is out. Hope he can get some speed out of good equipment.

I have really been impressed with Bordon in his limited 410 starts in Central Pa. From what I understand Shaffer was still the driver for Heffner despite running The Grove #28 for Ohio Speedweek. Maybe things changed this weekend after Bordon had three solid finishes?

I just saw a statement from Mike Heffner that he wished Tim the best. Things didn't seem right when Tim left to run Ohio Speedweek. Best of luck to all!

From Mike Heffner: After very much consideration, Heffner Racing will be retaining Devon Borden as driver for the remainder of the 2021 racing season. We are truly honored and grateful to have had the chance to work with Tim Shaffer. Tim is a legend and we wish him nothing but happiness and success in his future.

This kid is one to watch. Hate to lose Tim in central PA but it's great having Devon. He opened some eyes when he ran here earlier. Hopefully he does well in the Heffner car.

It will fun having another young hard charger racing in Central Pa on a regular basis. I think racing ten straight nights will only help him adapt, especially on the larger half miles which he has limited experience. Does Shaffer stay in the Grove #28 or land with another Ohio based team?

i wouldn't touch that ride with a 10 foot pole.
i'm relieved though since i was worried heffner would have been impressed enough with briggs danner to offer him a ride. briggs was up to 3rd in the usac national race and won the east coast race with heffner watching at selinsgrove.

Really? Even with the recent struggles, it's still the top money ride in central PA. I'm surprised they didn't go with another proven driver but I think Devon is a great choice. The veterans seem to need a set up to their liking, Maybe a young talented guy can be coached up and adapt better to the way they set up the car. We all know it's topnotch equipment and he's looked good so far. I actually thought he would be a candidate for the 24 but I think he landed an even better ride. Another young guy who has impressed in a low budget family ride is Bollinger.
Briggs has been fantastic in non-wing. I can see him and maybe that team going full-time USAC.

Did you watch Devon at all this past weekend? He was up on the wheel and the car was fast. Ryan NEVER drove anywhere close the as hard as Devon did. This kid is special. He puts the car places others won't and he drives the piss out of it every lap. His work ethic off the track is unreal for a kid his age. That was a huge issue before but it won't be now. The kid gets out of bed at the ass crack of dawn and goes to work. He wants it and he's busting his ass to get it. Whether you like it or not......and I'm going to go with not......Devon Borden is gonna put the 27/72 back up front on a very regular basis and he's already super popular with the fans. My suggestion is to quit hating and enjoy the show. This kid is gonna be a star & Mr. Heffner was smart enough to hire him while he could.
