Madsen got canned after Sharon. I think there is another thread about it.

Go down the page and there is another thread about the 11 putting Bayston in the car. What surprises me is there were no comments about Madsen's last race in the 11 which took place at Sharon. I thought he made some foolish moves in that race. Track rubbered up about lap 10 and at that point Madsen was 4th. Everybody was chugging around the bottom trying to stay in the rubber. Having never driven, I think all you can do is keep close to the guy in front of you just in case he messes up and you can try and captialize but otherwise you're stuck and just have to stay in line. Instead Madsen kept going to the outside trying to pass which failed dismally multiple times. He first lost 4th to Larson and until the race was over lost 3 more spots in similar fashion and ended up 8th. Not the first time I've seen a driver do this but I expect it more from a younger inexperienced driver. Lesson learned hopefully. Who knows what actually ended this pairing but hopefully both sides will move on to good things.

I too was suprised that Madsen kept trying to rip the top after it didn't work the first couple of times, but there has to more to the release of him than that seeing as after Sharon, Madsen/11 Car was 2nd in season points, with the second most top 5s and 2nd most top 10s (2nd only to Courtney in all 3) and 2nd in the Speedweek points after Sharon as well.

And if he thought the top was starting to rubber up he was up there trying to get it to come in. He would have went forward. Sometimes it just doesn't work and you go on to the next race. If the team parted ways because of that he's better off moving on.

Ian is a good racer and with the Nationals coming up be a good choice in a quality car.Doubt if he brings money but would be much better than some that do.Rubber down tracks happen and the follow the leader deal isnt much fun for driver or fan unless you are the leader.

Amy had her surgery last week. Brooke won a 360 race in the Nelson 14 last Saturday night up at Ogilvie about an hour up the road. His son raced their Micro for I believe only the second time and this was the first time they have raced together on the same night.
